Yeah... Id say it wouldnt be worth it to use the stock pipe... It would hurt your flow from the collectors to go to a smaller size piping.

When I got mine, I made sure it was the same size all the way through.

i wouldnt run open shorties. they will just blow all over prolly thigns like shifter cable etc. prolly burn lots of crap. be careful is all. hopefully it all works out. cant wait for a sound clip

well my cars not gonna get driven that much until i get it done. maybe just moving it in and out of the garage. not running it long enough to get warmed up all the way so i got time to find a y-pipe

The crazy thing is, back in the day I had those exact same headers w/ air tubes and had the air tubes cut off and welded just like that. Im sure im not the first one but jesus it looks just like the ones i had (except painted) wonder if you got em from the guy i sold em too? Probably far fetched but ya never know. Do the airtubes pertrude about 1/4" inside the header or was that milled down?

id have to double check but its about 1/4" inside the primarys. THe guy i got them from got them for his firebird new and than he got some bigger ones or something for his 383 stroker. I doubt they are the same ones
