Post Looking for a yellow top.

OK so the battery that came with my car (which has served me well) I think is started to go out. I left my car sitting up for 2 weeks during the hurricane now I'm having hard time keeping the battery at a full charge. With the winter months approaching I doubt my battery will make it. I can get one from work for cheap but I feel like going the yellowtop route. Problem is I'm having a hard time finding one that can fit in the tray and the ones that can fit are top post only (I want to keep my side post). So far I have found this to be the closest battery I can fit in the tray. Anyone happen to know the biggest battery you can fit in an LT1 tray? Yellow Top

Hmm how much does that yellow top model go for at Advance? If it is worth it I will buy it at advance.

Sweet I was just curious if that battery would fit. The Super Start batteries they are for my car at work are way smaller and do not have near the CCA.

You might want to check the yellow pages for a battery supply house. I have one in my town they are a sort of WD for batteries. I bought a red top optima that had both side and top post's for around $60 bucks. I just asked the warehouseman if they had any "blems" he hooked me up. The battery had some scratches in the top and side. But performes perfect.

O'reilly sucks plain and simple, my job cannot get a yellow top in to save it's life. The only way we can get one one is to do a special order and then it is like $5 cheaper then going to advance (I do not get to use my discount). Oddly enough their is a red top battery in the back that we keep in stock. The red top has more then 200 cold cranking amps extra when compared to the yellow top and has a higher reserve. It seems that the red top is actually a much stronger battery ($20+ cheaper too) it just doesn't work as a deep cycle. If I have no choice I will just get the red top, college is about to start back up and I don't feel like being stuck in the parking lot with a dead battery.

BTW I checked for a WD all around, no such luck in my area.

the red top if discharged completely will not fully recharge usually, it doesn't have much more capacity from my experience
