well like everyone else already said they are both good engines and it really does depend on your money, however for me i like the lt1 better because i own one and some other factors. honestly i dont like the front end or the taillights on an ls1 i kno we are talking about the engine but i had to get that out there, next i dont like the plastic intake manifold i kno it does its purpose and maybe lighter but it just looks cheap to me and i also dont like the lid we had a v6 at my dad's shop and the lid sounded like **** it made a wierd sound and had like a whistle to it i didnt like it at all..........but once again just my .02
