if i was a sheep following the leader id own a civic with a wing and an aftermarket muffler, how many 3rd gens do you see at the track? maybe 1-2, 3 tops every time you go? I donno how thats following the leader but what ever. Taking the hard route is retarded, especially with something like a v6 to v8 swap because in the end if he started out with a 305 or a v6 hes still gonna end up with a 350 so why make more troubles for yourself. You call it no imagination to not do it i call it retarded to try it.

good theing the edelbrocks never thout like you or everyone would still have a flathead ford, doing the easy stuff is for people not smart enough, or too lazy to engineer something what would be stupid is to spend more money on a car to get rid of parts (read the magazines buying articles all of them say don't worry about the engine) putting a v8 where a v6 was is very easy it is a bolt in type deal (and I see a ton of third gens but I am not from a plaxce like cali where if it's over 2 years old it's an antique)
