My Weekend Project

sounds good but if its street driven at all you'll have to put so much block filler and grinding on a stock block that one it wont be fun to prep and two you wont have a cooling system. So if its strip hey go for it, if its at all street dont do it, i got my 3.8" stroke in with out any block clearanceing what so ever with 6" rods and h beams. If your dead set on the 4" stroke get an aftermarket block.
So you never told the specs on your cam, oh and if i were you id get some 220s like myself or if you do plan on doin the 434 maybe even some 227s.

i dont have my cam specs infront of me.. but i do know it is SMALL.. at the time i was worried about emisisons, hence also the smaller injectors. im sure the cam i have in ther enow is barely better then a stock L98 cam.
im not 100% sure on the 434.. i may go somewher ein the 420's.. not sure yet, i have 2 see what my budjet is.. but id say,.. or of a given year.. i put maybe 1000 miles on the car.

ok, yeha you didnt scare my and i was an idiot and put it in anyway. the weekend project is still ongoing. i droped the heads off at the shop this morning. the motor is a 355, it had a stock 350 cam which is like .402 lift and low duration. im still saving money and the intake shouldn't be that far off. but idk, ill see what happens and post some other stuff

the low-end torque sux but above 3000 its good. i just got it running to the point where i can actually drive it places around town instead of just around the block. but the lifters need to be adjusted again, i had a little trouble with the trans lines and i don't trust em, im sure it would be better with a single plane and a carb, but i like it. im going out of town so i wont be driving it for like a week so ill let you know how things go when i get back.
i measured it out to be a 355, took the heads and had a valve job, new seals, and machined for the larger dual springs, they also needed to replace 2 of the valves. for the time being i had to eliminate the x-pipe and turndowns due to ground clearence issues, but 2moro morning b4 i leave i am going to drop it off at the exhaust shop so they can tuck it up to the body a little better. so far i have had no leaksand very few problems, plus the newe water pump keeps the motor much cooler.
ill try and get some pics and a sound clip shortly
