Need help to resolve these codes: P0300, P0155

I just installed a Chevy 3.8 V-6 3800 Series ll engine and 4L60E trans into my 2002 PT Cruiser. The engine and trans is from a 98 Camaro. Finally got the engine running, however, I'm getting these DTC codes: P0300, and P0155. I was able to hook up my Actron CP 9150 scanner to get the Freeze Frame Data, and View Data. If anyone understands what all this information suggest, I'm all ears.

This Data was taken after the engine ran for approximately 4 minutes.

FREEZE FRAME DATA

I hope this data will help to detect whatever is causing the DTC's to pop up. Thank you, Tommy

Well, a p0300 is a random missfire code, can come from anything just about, make sure the plug wires are set in the right spots, just check the usual.

The p0155 is a heated oxygen sensor, (H02S) heater circuit bank 2 sensor 1

I have always been a Chevy person. However, when I saw the PT Cruiser, I had to get one. As to why I installed a Chevy V-6 into the PT Cruiser. I think the design calls for one. It takes me back to the hot rod days. It also is my retirement project.

Yes, you have. And I'm working on that right now. As for the P0300 code, it covers alot of area. It will take time to check it all. As for the P0155 code, I have ordered a new 02 sensor. I should be able to pick it up some time late this afternoon. I'll keep you informed of my progress. Thank you for your support, Tommy.

Yea, Phate's basically covered it all.. the p0300 is a cylinder misfire. it should tell u which cylinder it is.. i had the same code pop up, fixed it by changing the plugs and wires.. u might want to also check the coils. how does it run at idle? does it shake more than before?

The spark plug wires and plugs are brand new, so are the coil packs and ignition control module. When the engine is cold, there is alot of hesitation and responds like it is missing, a very bad response. As the engine warms up, it runs better. The engine runs best when it is hot. I will be replacing the number 1 oxygen sensor on bank 2 today. Hopefully that will correct the P0155 code. I'll post an update later. Thank you, Tommy.

P0300 and P1055 DTC's

I replaced the #1 02 sensor on bank 2. I erased the trouble codes and ran the engine. As of right now, the P1055 code is not setting anymore. The P0300 is still setting. I'm still checking all of the wiring and everything else I can think of. Other information that you should know about is, I had the engine harness specially fabricated for my application. While trouble shooting, I have found wires crossed for the Throttle Position sensor and the Idle Air Control valve. I have made the necessary corrections and I'm currently checking on all of the wire connectors that controls any engine related items. The company that fabricated the engine harness modified the Power Control Module Connector Pins. Some pins were removed and those systems were disabled. Then there are those that I'm concerned about, such as: Pin 23 of the C2 the clear side of the PCM. That pin has been removed. It has something to do with the Crank Signal. Another is Pin 35 of the C2 side of the PCM, that pin has also been removed. It has something to do with a sensor ground. There were a total of 20 modifications done to the C1 and C2 PCM wire connectors, most were to disable various systems that were no longer needed. The 2 mentioned above may or may not have something to do with my problem. If anyone has any suggestions or info on these 2 missing pins, please let me know. Thank you, Tommy.

DTC code: P0300

Does anyone have the wiring diagrams that shows the color and numbers or letters of the wires and where they are going for the crankshaft and camshaft sensors for a 98 Camaro with 3.8 V-6 with a 4L60E transmission. This would be a big help for me. Thank you, Tommy.

DTC Code: P0300

Ok, I found the electrical diagram I was looking for. Looks like all the wires for the crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, ignition control module and the PCM are all intact and read out ok. However, I mentioned this earlier, cavity 23 of the C2 clear circuit is empty. The pin has been removed. My research tells me that there is suppose to be a purple with white stripe wire in that cavity. It has something to do with the ignition system. Perhaps this is why the P0300 code is getting set. If anyone knows where that wire goes to from cavity 23, I would really appreciate that info. Thank you, Tommy.

Missing pin cavity 23 or C2

I found out where that missing pin wire goes to. Cavity pin 23 of the C2 (Clear) circuit purple/white wire has something to do with the automatic transmission controls. Hope I don't get other problems downstream. In anycase with that pin missing, it will not interfere with the Case Learn Procedure that I need to get done. I'm wondering if because I have not done the Case Learn Procedure yet, this may be the reason why the P0300 code is set, and why the engine currently runs the way it does. I will do the Case Learn Procedure as soon as I get my hands on the appropriate scan tool. Thank you, Tommy.
