Oh ya guys for all of you who did not know already. There is NOT a single third gen car (1982-1992) that came stock with a 350ci engine and a manual transmission. NOT ONE. So you better make sure the guy dropped it in and has reciepts and crap. So its not a rare option IT DID NOT EXIST. Yes mine has a 350 (well more like 175 cuz i blew the bottom end ) and a manual tranny thats only cuz mines modded to ****. Stock there IS NOT ONE. So be careful my friend.

o yea, thats why when i saw that one red z-28 it said 5 speed 350 so i immediatly looked at it and i ran the 8th digit of vin for the engine code and it was supposed to be a 305, the guy still told me it was a 350 then my dad looked at it by himself and the guy knew my dad knew a lot about cars and stuff and hes like um do u know if this is really a 350, and my dad didnt know cause he knows nothign except 72 and earlier, but since i told my dad that it was prolly a 305 hes like no i dont think it is and the guys like o ok. what a ****. thinks jsut cause im a kid he can screw me. w/e im gonna keep an eye out tho. hopeing to sell my car soon then i can hopefully get a nice iroc.thanks for the help and comments

ok the likely hood of you finding a 350 manual in a thirdgen is very unlikely "unless aftermarket" because of the fact GM was scared of twisting chassis but i would say get a 3rd gen with a 350TPI look for one with a blown or taken out tranny buy the 800 dollar kit i've seen around for a manual conversion and convert it heck you can get a t 5-6 in it and that would be bad a##

well my dad has a spare m-21 in the garage out of like a 69 442. thatd be ghetto. a 4 speed on a thirdgen. i think id have trouble getting a hydraulic clutch and all the linkage and swing pedals and what not tho. id rather get a 305 and have a stick. you only twist the frame and drivetrain with a stick when your learning and dont know what your doing *cough me cough*lol, but hey, i learned on a 35 year old car. now im pretty good. but yea ive been seeing a few 350 sticks jsut far from me.

yea, my dad has an m-20 out of an old vette in his car, after a few burnouts from like 4 grand it started leaking. we're building a 402 for it now and when he takes otu the 327 hes gonna check the trans. and about the casting numbers, if i find a 350 5 speed, ill run the numbers on the block.
