I was gonna get mids that were made by pacesetter, Im trying to decide what I want now. They have shortys somewhere else I was looking.

I was asking cause Im actually trying to learn because Im interested.

Pacesetter only makes shortys but the length of them is a little long for shorys so some places call em mids. Trust me, it's the same.

In order to put headers on... Ive heard miscellaneous things... Do you have to jack up the engine an inch or two to get them on? or how hard is it going to be?

No, some 3.4Ls have big troubles like that but I've never heard of a 3.8L having to do that. I didn't that's for sure.

Okay, well the day I have been waiting for for a couple weeks has arrived. I finally got home and saw my exahust... Needless to say, Im very excited to put it on! I dont want to do it while theres salt though, everything is so shiney! Only one thing really pissed me of though... I looked over the exhaust, everything's fine, then looked at the cat i got... 2.5" in/out :banghead:

Its brand new in the box, I just saw the numbers on the side and got mad. So... What I did was contact the guy about 10 mins ago about seeing if he has any 3" in/out and I just got the wrong one, or if they all were 2.5 i/o. If he cant exchange it, Im looking for someone who wants to buy a Carsound cat from me: 2.5" in/out. I need that money to get a 3" that will fit. Anyone want this cat right off the bat so I can avoid waiting for this guy? Im just gonna ask 60+ shipping, since they are 60$ new.

this has been a really long thread, i never heard of having to jack up a 3.8 to put headers on

if you go from teh top I could see it, but if you can go from underneath you shouldn't need to

99v6cam 02-18-2006 01:29 PM

You pretty much HAVE to do it from under unless you wanna pull the motor.

I love my headers/catback setup. Best thing I've done to the car... aside from the motor, trans, and all that.
