Rear main isn't that big of a deal- just time intensive. If you have an evening and a couple buddies you should be able to take care of it.

Because nothing you said was useful to my question. I dont care if you get away with walking away from the pump for "30 seconds", i dont care that you run diesel oil in your saturn, dont care you spilled gas all over the ground. Nothing you said helped you were only being a jakass.

You can switch at any time it won't do any damage it will probably help your engine more (dyno oil causes sludge, and some brands will get solid I have seen it on a new vehicle where the dyno oil wouldn't drain and the stick read full, third oil change and only 6000 miles on the vehicle)
While you are right for the most part, from my experience, synthetic oil at high miles causes problems. As you said about oil leaks, synthetic is not as thick, therefore it leaks more, it does little to no 'cleaning' of seals. I change oil in cars near every day of my life, and the only difference ive noticed between the two, is that the synthetic for reasons that are scientifically beyond me, does not discolour as fast as normal oil, that, and synthetic runs smoother for newer engines.

There are always going to be two sides to any discussion when it comes to product viability, my personal oppinion is synthetic is not a good idea on high mileage engines, give me a new one, and sure, I might run it... if they bought it for me ... until then... havoline 10w30.

it is the same thickness 10 weight oil is 10 weight oil it's a standard and can't be changed. I have done a few thousand oil changes and never seen a real issue with synthetic, the discolor of the oil is the carbon burning, you can put it in a car with high miles and you cansee sludge build up, after 2 oil changes the sludge is gone. Having worked as a mechanic (dealers and independant shops) I tell everyone to run synthetic

the last time i cleaned under my hood i broke my windshield...had my windshield wipers up and my hood pressed against them and crack...here is a pic of it

I circled where the windsheild was cracked and then it spidered up! I also marked out the VIN # just for my own privacy...(prob doesnt matter...)

Ok-well I guess we'll have to spell out next time not to put your hood with your wipers up- I don't know about anyone else- but if I started feeling resistance I wouldn't just keep pushing the hood up..nor would I just let the hood fly up either..but I guess thats just me.
