Not by much, the markup on oil is very low. Stores hardly make any money off of oil sales.

I used to get mobile 1 cheap in MI it had a heck of a markup (the body shop I ran bought everything at cost so guess how I bought)been a couple years since then though

Mobil 1 might be different but I know Castrol, Penizoil, Quaker, Valoline(sp) have very small markups.

those are gready companies plus they buy their base oil from mobil , shell or texaco usually

same idea only a handfull of comapnies make them and sell them to everyone else (I just started lookig at selling a few auto parts and looking at the markups of regualr parts I can't see how little guys stay around)

Yeah another funny thing is that their are only two plants in the country that make antifreeze but their are some where around 30 different brands.

same with car batteries GNB makes about 80% of them what was real funny was getting the pallet of batteries from tehm and seeing every brand you carried on it

Yep, I think that is the same company that makes our Super Start series. Speaking of batteries I don't know why but for some reason our batteries have an $8 core charge. I don't know of any other autoparts store that charges a core on batteries.
