CRAP!! something is SERIOUSLY messed up with my system, im loading pics now. the i pipe to the over the axle pipe is like 7-1/2" away from each other. WTF is going on?! the sweet thunder is 18" body, the dynomax is 18" body. i cut the cat off right at the weld, where did i lose over 7 inches?!!!! arrg im so pissed, this was easly a less than 3 hour project from first cut of the stock exhuast to last clamp of the rumbler if something wasnt wrong. help guys, im lost as to what to do now. i have NO money to take it to an exhuast shop right now, would be able to just get a 7-1/2 in pipe and put it between the S pipe and i pipe? or would it have to be bent a little?

I think since you have a V6 you need an extra pipe that goes from the ypipe to the catback. I know I did on my 3.4 but I could be wrong. Are you sure the rumbler fit fine before you modified it?

No, My rumbler is how it is from TSP. It hooked up just fine to my stock cat when I had it. Honestly I dont know what is wrong with yours.....I dont think it will help but I can snap some pics of how mines setup (mines old and dirty but yea).

gotta love working on exhausts

Youre going to do some fabbing... since you dont have the money to take it to a shop, looks like your only hope is adding another pipe.

ANY pictures will help, ill love you forever if you can get some pictures. i dont care how dirty it is, i need my car back on the road NOW i cant have my car sittting in the driveway with no exhuast.

is my S pipe where its sopposed to be? a guy in antoher site said it might need to be back more ( toward the axle ) i know the new cat is shorter.

right now, i have no idea where to add more pipe, extend the over the axle pipe, add to the I pipe, add between the S and cat, add between the Y and cat. those are my choices, and id prefer the cheapest, easyest way. but im too mad to think right now.:banghead:

No, thats about where the S-pipe should be.. Thats where it is on mine anyway. The easiest way to add pipe would be the I pipe... You dont have to bend it at all. So I say, put the two over axle pips to each other, and measure the distance you need from the end to the I pipe. That way, just go to a parts store and tell them you need _ long of a pipe and I dunno if you want to put it on the outside, or inside of the other two, but make sure you have the width on hand, either Inside or Outside diameter.

ive been busy too man, if you can get pic's of the rear section, specificly the hangers (assuming you got the SLP install kit? ) im pretty sure mine are on wrong or something.

its going to the exhuast shop tuesday, i went and got an appoinment this morning. having it all welded up and fixing my " over the axle piece" its hitting the axle HARD when you hit potholes/bumps. but if i can fix my tips myself that'll probally save me some money. right now, if i cant get my tail pipes where they're sopossed to be im just going to throw some turn-downs on it. i dont like the look of camaro's with tips. thats why i got some stock black z28 tips, hoping they'd hide themselfs decently.

So did you end up getting another piece? Or how did you get it to fit?

yea i ended up getting another peice to go between the cat and the S pipe. it fits now, and i had it around the block 2 times. but with it hitting the axle that hard, im not driving it untill i have to coast down the road to the exhuast shop.

so i took the car over to the exhuast shop today, and they said they can get me in on tuesday to have everything welded up, and they can fix the "over the axle" piece so it wont hit the axle anymore. so, screw letting it burn in a little, ill have a sound clip up tuesday. probally just a start up and some revs. then wednesday i can get a couple of vids inside, or me driving by or whatever you guys want.

my only complant is, if i go WOT then suddenly and completely let of the gas the exhuast crackles and pops untill it rev's down to around 3600-3800 or so.

here's some clearance pics, now i didnt trim anything off the bottom half the over the axle pipe, i just wanted it on already.

you can see where i added more pipe.

when i first started it up, me and my dad both looked at each other like " thats it?" we both thought it was going to be louder. start up and idle isnt that bad, but once i left the driveway, holy hell. it wakes up ALOT after 2800RPMS under load. even just crusing you cant talk in a normal tone. dont have to yell, but louder than normal. im not that surprised it crackles and pops, just means its very free-flowing
