my car wont start. i turn the key and it sounds like the starter is trying to turn over but it wont. this has been happening before and my friend told me it was my ground for my battery and it was but now i got it in there with perfect contact and it still wont start and it pissed me off so much. i fully charged the battery like 30 times and kept trying. nothing. help

Hmm its not hard to unbolt the starter and bring it to advance auto or somewhere to get it tested for free.

Heres a little trick I know. Get out a hammer and go hit your starter a couple times (no im not kidding) hit it rather hard. Then try and start it again. If it works then you have a bad starter. You can keep using the hammer method to start it for a couple weeks then it will probally stop working.

Not really. It wont hurt it.

Cmon people, remember, this is a car, its not all that fragile. You dont want to know half of the things your techs do to your car while you dont see it. There isnt alot of 'finesse' involved.

yeah someone else i asked also told me to hit it with a hammer. im gonna try this later tonight if i get over there. good thing my y pipe is off it should make it easier to get to the starter. thanks for the help guys. you think i should save up and get a high torque starter or maybe a starter off ebay? or just go to advance and get a direct replacement. i really appreciate the help though guys.

aftermarket is sometimes cheaper and better, get a new one thats not oem, a high torque one would be good.
