Ok, so you have those connectors on them that Bernotas05 posted up right? If you have those on and crimped right then the only thing I can think of is you just mixed the 2 connections up, because as far as I know if you have the pos and neg backwards it won't sound right.

i dont have those connections but i have the bare wire looped through the littlle connectors on the speakers and i criss crossed changed reversed all the wires nothing is diff just bass

you need to get those connectors in order to have it work better. what you are doing is the lazy way out and probably won't last long. those connectors you can get at a wal-mart for like a buck and then you can (if you have to) use normal pliers to crimp them as long as you don't go crazy with it

I dunno man, the only thing I can think of is your connections are bad, so I'd try those connectors that you should be using. Other than that I have no idea, when I did mine all I had to do was strip the wires crimp the connectors and hook it up.
