i say go for it... i read the other tread and those guys talking about added driveline torque... i think they were just worried that the extra torque that the tranny would put out going into the lower(harder to turn) rear end gear would be alot of stress on the tranny out put/ driveshaft... but if the tranny is good for 1000 hp i dont think there will be a problem

I prefer teh pg for drag racing, but even my stock 250 in my first '69 reved high with one (but going sideways when it shifted when we dropped the small block in was fun)
