I wouldn't say this is quite sticky material yet..
Nitrous is simple-
1.) Its nothing like what the F&F make it out to be
2.) Its cheap quick horsepower
3.) I would say its appealing to someone who wants more power but doesn't have the $4k for a blower or want to spend $3k in building the motor
4.) If you are smart with it, you won't melt your mill
5.) Take the safety precautions and you will be fine.
Honestly, I doubt that if you are only spraying a 75 shot, and you go lean it would be catastrophic like people think. That happens to guys who are running the 200+ shots.
Another thing to keep in mind- a 75 shot isn't going to shoot you back in your seat like the movies make it out to be. You will feel a little surge of power, but don't expect your head to be glued to the headrest. If you are expecting that then expect to be disappointed the first time you push the button...

Ok- if you are ever in NY I'll so you what gettin planted in the seat really feels like. I have a feeling your 75 shot doesn't quite throw you back as much as you think it does.

Purge

Window switch / wot switch
Remote bottle opener
There are alot of options when it comes to running nitrous.
Purge - Imo a purge is a 'must have' for even an occasional nitrous user, before spraying it clears any possible trapped air bubbles in the nitrous line, giving you a clean feed.
Bottle Warmer - This is where you can draw the line between occasional and dedicated nitrous user. A bottle warmer blanket kit is rather expensive, usually in the $250+ range. It will keep the nitrous bottle at a certain temperature, making sure the pressure stays in the correct area and you get the appropriate shot amount.
Choosing a wet / dry system - This is your choice. There are people who swear by both sides, but I recommend the wet system. The difference between a wet system and a dry system, is that a wet system uses a 'fogger' to mix fuel and nitrous and sprays them at the same time, giving you a more safe mixture. A dry system is plain nitrous injection.
Window Switch / Wot switch - A window switch is not a must have, all it is is a programmable box that will spray nitrous through a set 'window' of rpms, depending on how advanced of a window switch you buy, it can even be set per gear. A wot switch (wide open throttle) is a safety catch that ensures that nitrous will only be on when you have the throttle completely depressed. (A wot switch usually comes with every nitrous kit you buy)
Remote bottle opener - If you are going to mount the nitrous bottle in the spare tire area, I recommend picking one of these up so you do not have to keep the bottle open all the time.
Yet again, which kit you get is your personal preferance. It really does not matter, its usually where you can get the best deal. If you have any other questions about shot size, jets, or anything, just ask.

Purge-just for show. Do you really think that with 1000 psi in a bottle it will effect the flow of the nitrous? NO. Urban myth, but looks cool.
wet vs. dry- wet systems add fuel from the retrn side of the fuel system in with the nitrous shot so you're fuel system doesn't need to compensate....good if you have a stock car, and want to add a lot of nitrous(fbody style) word of caution, fuel puddling can destroy an intake manifold during a backfire.
dry- better to protect from the above reason. if this method is used, usually a fuel pressure regualtor, and fuel pump are good ideas if you are going to use over a 100 shot on your car.
best kit of all....fogger. plubs into each injector port to allow you to spray more evenly througout all the cylinders.
have fun.....but remember........nitrous is like a hot chick with stds..u want to hit it, but are afraid of the consequences....

.00001 of a second wil not blow you're engine. lol. you're telling me adding more air and fuel will blow an engine?(wet kit) true that most people purge the system either for show, or to "get the air out" but it is more of a useful item for dropping bottle pressure.this is why when the kit is purged by race car drivers, they spray until the liquid nitrous comes out, spray some more, spray a little more, and there is the correct bottle temp according to the guage. the split second that the gaseous nitrous is in the line, will make very, very little diff. either way, nitrous is much more than a bottle and some lines. those add-ons mentioned above should be considered when purchasing nitrous. not as cheap as you think.

Trust me, I've used it both with and without a purge and when you use the purge before hand there's a big difference.

yea, its not really about the pressure. a bottle heater takes care of that. like stated, its nice to get the instant nitrous to the noid instead of the short burst of straight air, and its extremely helpful to get any leftover out of the lines when your done, as you dont want to put the stress on the solenoids of leftover nitrous on them.
