nope even teh new vette (z06) has a top speed of 195 mph. it is limited by the aerodynamics not the engine

no vette has gone that fast without major aerodynamic changes (they have to have a belly pan to get that fast or they start to lift off the salt)

I dont watch nascar, I have no idea.

Thats besides the point. You said no vette of that era (the 80s) went above 150. Im showing you that the Callaway Sledgehammer is a perfectly driveable car from the showrooms that has hit well above 150. Thats all Im saying.

was not from showrooms, one was built, and done by a tuner. I am refering to rpoduction cars, and ones that were built regualrly and tested by magazines

when motor trend tested it they got about 150 (I had the magazine until I moved to AL) they said it would have been capable of faster if teh front tires stayed on the ground

my 1995 Camaro is a v6 3.4 with a couple mods , intake , ravin exhaust, headers , etc and i was racing a Golf GTi on the highway and he was hittin 121mph and i was slowly pulling away from him. so i was doing 121+

unless your pcm is reprogrammed, I doubt it. His spedometer was probably off, or he was bsing. Our cars are not known for top end torque.

ive gotten my v6 up to 115 before the governor restrictor what ever you waan cal it kicked in but i as only at 3.6- 4 grand RPMs and deff could of kept going ....................cant you just get them tunned out ?

take into consideration though regarding the vettes 75 - early 80s the oil crisis so they donw graded most prefromance cars in cluding the vette the 76 to the ned of it generation had about 180 HP
