Rear Hatch

My rear hatch won't open!! I push the button and it makes the noise that releases it but it won't open. Then I put my key in it and unlocked it and it still won't open. I really need it opened cause i'm getting my windows tinted. Anyone know why it did this and how to get it open?

sounds like the latch froze up, have you by anychance recently used wd 40 on it? to open it I believe the interior trim has to be removed and get to the latch and turn it

yeah but to remove the trim, the hatch has to be off...well it might be possible...but hard.

push downwards hard on the hatch. give it a nice jolt, not enough to break anything, but definitely enough to get the suspesion to drop a bit. then try using the remote release or using the key. i have this problem from time to time in mine. i think what happens is that it lifts a bit during normal driving and pushes up against the latch. then when you try to unlock it, it wont work right because the latch and hook are pulling against each other. by pushing down on the hatch, you can get the two apart and then the latch will hopefully work correctly.
