Right before I sell my 3.8 ... :(
Before I sell my 96 3.8L something just has to go wrong. :banghead: Service engine soon light came on about the same time that the car started bucking sometimes while driving. It kinda felt like that feeling right before you run out of gas, but it wasn't gas. At first I thought the fuel pump, but I had Shucks check the code on the service engine light and turnes out that it is a problem with my MAF sensor (Problem Code P 102). Obviously, its not working right and I just can't believe this, right before I sell it and pick up my new Z. The parts guy said my best bet is search junk yards for a MAF sensor to completely replace my faulty one. This is probably the best bet right? because they are like 170 bucks to purchase new... Anyway, I'm partially just whining, but I'm also curious if you guys have any better ideas on what I should do. Maybe just take it out and clean it (doubt it)? ... I'm also wondering what caused this ... 120,000 miles of air finally wore it out? Or do you think my new ram-air scoop and intake pushed it too hard? Maybe something got through the filter? ... Anyway, just let me know what you guys think I should do. Oh, and give me a shoulder, I might cry. Haha joking ... But I just want my Z. (Moved to pick it up next week, by the way).
Thanks Guys.
Thanks Guys.

Pick up some CRC electronics component cleaner from Pep boys.
Or use throttle bore cleaner and q tips.
Bend the ends 90 degrees & clean the resitor elements. Very gently though, just enough to clean them not tweek 'em.

^^^^^Yeah.....What he said!
I would have said relace it, but that's just because I don't know squat about map sensors and relays or basically anything computer retarded. (I mean related)

(Just curious, the MAF sensor problem code would have nothing to do with the IAT sensor would it ... because when I installed my CAI I had some trouble with that guy... probably not, I'm just being a worry-wort )
