serpentine belt???? help

got a 1998 camaro v6...my serpentine belt (new)..something is not right since where the belt tensioner...i notice that the belt is not sitting properly...it seems like its about to fall off the pulley...its not sitting properly...i thought its a uneven pulley so i bought one but once i start the car it do that again.....what could be causing this???....i chk with pep boys and autozone they dont sell the tensioner assembly only the pulley ...like i said its not the pulley got to be something else ...any idea...im gonna post a picture of that tensioner later.......pls help

check the alignment. stand on the side of the car and look straight at the belt. see if one of the other pullies of misaligned and thats causing the belt to be off the tensioner.

it doesnt sound like the tensioner is off but it sounds like another pulley is like another is too far our so its trying to pull the belt off like norice said just look fron the top of the front and just see whats further out

thanks guys for all ur input....anyway i decided to just buy a tensioner assembly from our local chevy dealership...paid 140 for it ..(was told by sales rep ...that particular assembly never really goes bad)...anyway i put in the new assembly and immedietly notice that it did fix my belt problem....just for future reference there are two plastic elbow thats need it doesnt comes with the assembly but it actually needed to be replace..(i head back to the dealership when i realized i needed those....)....well car is working fine now ...thanks a lot guys

oh it can go bad. a friend of mine had one where it shattered into 3 pieces. lost all accessories.
