SLP Fit Issues

Has anybody ever heard of any problems fitting a SLP Cold Air Intake up to a Vortech elbow? The reason I ask is because I just recieved my new Chrome SLP Intake and it does not fit right. There is not enough room in between the intake and the elbow to fit the MAF sensor. What I ended up doing was cutting about 1 1/4 inches of the end of the Vortech elbow in order to make it fit. Now that I have done that, it fits like a glove. I was just wondering if anybody has heard of this problem before?

i have the slp cai with the vortech elbow and you are gonna have to cut the elbow becuase it is to long. just have the intake sitting there and hold the elbow over it kinda touching the tb and draw a little mark with a marker and you should go to an exhaust place or somehere around where they have a big cutting wheel. if not u can do it with a air cutting wheel but it takes longer and be careful and wear your googles because those metal chips will fly everywhere.

Yeah...Like I said, I already cut it off. But it is good to hear that I am not the only one that had this issue. I was beginning to think that something was tweaked wrong or something. Thanks for the reply.

yeah mine is also specifically for my car it is just the elbow i think is too long it dosent say it can be used with aftermarket cai so if we still had stock it would prob fit fine

Well, before I bought this new SLP I had a Moroso CAI. I bought the elbow a long time ago and have been using it ever since. It fit just fine with the Moroso, but it wasn't until I put the SLP on there that I had problems. It also fit perfect when it was stock.

Now that I have everything fitting perfectly, I wouldn't have it any other way. This SLP sounds bad a**!! Not to mention it feels a little bit quicker. But then again that could have been because my Moroso filter was dirty as hell. :banghead:
