spark plug + coil repair = 700 after tax

In his defense, sparkplugs on a 4th gen v8 take A LOT longer than 30 min unless:
a) you have headers (there is very little clearance with stock manifolds
b) you have done it atleast a few times in the past
With stock manifolds, you have to get some of them from the top of the car and the rest after jacking the car up and going from the bottom. Depending on how skinny your arms are, you may have to remove the alternator too.
But still, he should have saved the money, bought some tools and stuck at it a bit longer before giving up.

His its a V6 tho, not half as bad at all; I know quite well what a HUGE pain in the *** changing spark plugs on an ls1 is as I own one myself.

I work in an office but like to wrench on my own car and for friends.. the last time I did headers on an LS1, I came into work with my hands and forarms all cut up, back aching etc. It looked like I got into a fist fight haha. Sometimes Im envious of the honda guys just b/c its so much easier to work on their stuff than ours.

talk to someone you know, if you dont want to touch your car, get a regular mechanic, but dont just go to any ask friends who they go to, my mechanic for my car is great, owns his own shop and even lets you watch exactly what hes doing, labour is cheap too ($30 / hour) and the work is great.
