Steel forged vs. Cast Crank question

The only person that will prolly be able to help me is Arch or maybe jessasaurus, but how do you tell the difference between a cast and steel forged crank? I know its somethign with like the shape of the one part. dont know how to describe it but like..here ill draw it

cant you tell by looking at that part and like its either smooth or has an edge or something?...thanks

forged won't have parting lines, I think that's a cat crank since forging doesn't do detail like that (that's what machining is for)
