Structural Integrity 78 Camaro

Here we go again As u know i run a buick 455 in my camaro .Ibought a set of headers 4 a GS cause they dont make any 4 my applacanion & they fit not bad at all . There is 1 small problem and thats a skinny piece of metal that runs from engine mount frame to the rear control arm bushing housing whereits bolted & from there its bolted to the sub frame of the car .If u own amid 70's camaro it might be easier to take a peek & and see what i am talking about . I took this piece off & the headers fit like they were made 4 the car ,Ithink i can fab up somethig .Now does anyone else have any ideas? As always thanks 4 the advice

Well if you check the header installation instructions for a small block 2nd gen camaro, you will see that they tell you to remove it.
It does not need to be replaced. Does nothing really.
I`ve had 3 2nd gen camaros and never had a problem with that part removed.
