I think they have different ratios, the t5 also is not a very strong trans (have seen a few people with barley modified 305's break them)

I found a spec sheet on a mustang website that had touqre rating on all the T-5's out of mustangs it is the cobra T-5 that I was looking at its toruqe rating is 310ft pounds I think that will be good for my car if it stands up to a cobra it should stand up to my 305 with a few bolt-ons right? I know what if I get bigger motor but by the time that rolls around I will be making more money than I am now. I hope.

the t5 was over rated, the mustang was breaking them stock, most manuals today are weak compared to the auto counterpart
