Question Turbo / Supercharge a V6 3.8 3800?

Hey guys, I've got a stock (so far) 3800 Series '01 3.8 V6 Camaro, and I'm looking to add a little bit of power to it short of NOS. I've read that it's near impossible and/or very impractical to supercharge the 3800 -- but what about just throwing on a turbo instead? Would it fit and be efficient on it's own?

Also, seeing as the cylinder would have more air, meaning more gas, I initially thought that my average MPG would suffer for the sake of more power... but then again it's more efficient so the engine doesn't have to rev as high to get the power it needs, right? So it may actually help the MPG?

Apologies, I'm new to this. Also, sorry if this has been asked before, but it's been a long day and I'm having trouble making much sense of the other posts on the topic.

I recommend doing a search on the site for info on this.

But pretty much your looking at $5000+ for a turbo setup with supporting mods.

Wouldn't say its impossible to supercharge a 3.8. In fact I do believe this is an RKSport kit that will fit.

I would say the first question you have to ask yourself is how much power are you looking for? If you only want another 30-50 its not too bad. If you are looking to try and make a ton of power expect to spend a ton of money. There are a couple V6 guys here making good power, just be sitting down when you ask how much it cost them to get that much power.

Horsepower = money. It all boils down to how deep your pockets are...
