Turbocharger for V6

Wow i been browsing thru the forums and it gave me hope on turbocharging my v6 camaro, i have made calls here in oklahoma and they act like it cant be done. What is a good turbocharger for the 3.8 2000 v6 camaro and what else can i put in the car to make the car faster right now it has the looks just no speed I herd switch the gears but to what? and i can not find cold air intake for the vehicle if u guys can give me some specific stuff on what to buy, i have about 5,000 dollars saved up for the camaro's part expense and the rest is for installment most i think i can do myself. Please if you have the time to help out please do Thanx in advance.

you are spammer with just one post. you want loud go no mufflers, or loudmouth. get a cold air intake (a real one not just an open filter under the hood those actually hurt power) ask the guys at fff what gears and headers the recommend they have done testing to determine what works, and what doesn't

As far as gears go I'd say get 4.10s. Intake, get a whisper lid and a K&N filter. Headers? If you plan on a turbo like the FFF kit don't worry about headers for they will supply you with exhaust manifolds that lead to the turbo. If you don't end up dumping the exhaust shortly after the turbo I'd look into setups like the TSP rumbler. Use whatever money you have left to get a tune and you'll be set.

about those gears

okay so a 4.10 gears sounds good. i have a question though sometimes i can burn my rear end tires and other times i cant, when racing its good for me to burn the tires out before i take off the line, why is it i can burn them sometimes and other times i cant, i do drive an automatic any pointers, also im having a hard time power shiftting when im driving, i raced v6 camaro the other night he had an automatic and every time he shifted he tires burnt out. you know what i mean, so im guessing im asking about the timing and the howto on how to do that, and why the hell does my car die when i go from neutral to drive when im racing off the line i start in neutral to get the rpm up and then i switch to drive and the car either stalls or dies what the hell am i doing wrong. and whats rear end differintials should i get that too if so what should i get.
so many questions it makes my head hurt. :banghead: . that i cant figure this out on my own this forum has been alot of help..... your computers ever mess up i can help u fix it or even send parts but this camaro upgrading thing has me baffled.

burning tires is a bad thing it means loss of traction, radial tires hate heat so burnouts before a race cause losses only.power shifting an auto usually slows you down.It sounds like your car may need a tune up.Is there a service engine soon light on?

NO SRVC SOON LIGHT

I may need some more spark plugs or something, i will go get a tune up though for the hell of it maybe your right, i may be reading too much into it. great suggestion. how are these headers http://ftpp.net/V6/Exhaust/v6_headers.htm
Im gonna have to get some AAA batterys so i can take a picture of my baby, someone cracked my blackouts on my taillights. So now i have to go buy some more of those, This forums is great, i have been to several domestic aftermarket car shops even ones who specilize in chevy and they keep saying there isnt cold air intakes for a v6 there isnt headers and if there were they would be a waste of time but you guys have gave me hope thanx alot.

On a side note my uncle is buying a track here in oklahoma called thundervalley maybe some of you guys around oklahoma can come to the track or something im sure i can get him let us rent out the place for free. He OWES ME BIGTIME

maybe not, but they win races.Manuals don't hold power as well as autos do (especially the t5 and t56 every performance magazine, and even racers I talk to think that has to be the worst trans ever put in a car)

Worst trans ever? If it is so bad then how come the big three are using it? I know stock-wise it might not hold up to a ton of power, but some beefed up internals and they can hold a lot of power.

About the only thing I see auto's have over stick is that they are more consistent. But seeing how I am not at the track everyweekend, I would much rather have my fun on the street rowing thru the gears..

they are horrible for shifting (sloppy is the term most use) the big three use them for one reason people want it to feel sloppy (when they had the firm shifts people bitched so they loosened it up) it's just like the suspension stock is too soft to be usefull.Because cars are not desigend for performance first but to appeal to women and men who want to look a certain way

i think i herd that to not really sure why i didnt go out and by the auto but im sure someone had to tell me that the manual is a pain in the ***, I drive the auto like a manual sometimes when im racing, i dont really know when i should shift from 1st to second i usually do it around 3,000 to 5,000 rpm mark

***********
żżżżżis my dual flowmaster system making me loose horsepower??????

don't shift it, it will do it at the proper time, you'll actually slow down by holding it
