about L36 upgrades.

They recommend 1.8intake and 1.85exhaust roller rockers. I've been thinking hard about doing that now, it sounds like its not that expensive. They also recommeded cams, I found the GT1 and GT2 cams on zzperformance that are for 3800II engines. They give lift values based on the stock 1.61 roller rockers.

My question is, being that the cam itself is gonna increase lift, do I need to stay with the 1.6 if I put the Cam in? Or can I still go to 1.8,1.85 Rockers and put in the GT2 cam later on?

Bleh got some more questions. I'm new to all this.
I was looking at the stroker kit also. My question is, they say stroking the engine increased it from 3.8l to 4.05l. It also increases the compression from 9.4 to 10.2. At what point do you need to start using higher octane fuel? Is there a chart somewhere that says this range of compression should use this octane? Or am I completeing missing the connection between octane and compression and totally messing this up?

you'll need higher octane I bet, every engine is a bit different. As for the rockers most of the gp guys are running the 1.8's with only minor issues (don't use the garbage comp cams keepers unless you want a new motor, zoomer at zzperformance stopped selling them)You may want to email zoomer and see what he recommends with that cam

I just put a cam in my car. 218/218 .528/.528 112LSA 112IC The thing is that you can't exceed .530 lift on stock heads. It's a nice cam, love the lopey idle, need to have the rev limiter raised though, its still pulling when i hit mine which is currently set at 6000rpm. Definalty get valvesprings, retainers, pushrods, and lifters (depending on mileage for those). And yes, usually with higher compression you need a higher octane fuel.
