I dont think mustangs would be a problem for you car stock! I raced one with my 305 and he barly beat me becasue he got a jump becasue I didnt see him, also I was with my friend in his crown vic and we raced one and it could barly pass us! Gudging on the 97 I drove you would have no problem against a stock GT or maybe even lightly modded like exhaust and intake

Id really enjoy seeing you try to make a fast smog legal car here in cali. Sure if ya got enough money anythings possible. However its not easy. Visual and Emissions. Please, you obviouslly have not lived out here.

no but I have built cars that passed cali emmisions (I have family that lives in the L.A. area as well as San Fran) no it's not easy to make a real fast car, but it's not easy in any state.

last one was supercharged 2.8 gm, also did a 3rd gen for my cousin with heads cam, and upgraded intake (he did the scoggins dickey tuned port) all are carb certified you can also do a bigger displacement engine as long as it's still a sbc since the externals are all teh same
