might, it will accelerate pretty quick, but once it shifts to probably 3rd gear it will feel like you hit a wall

305's have no high end pull so a gear like a 3:73 would not be your best choice. Be like me and get some 2:73's.

i have 2.73s right now and i have no low end at all and am not worried about the top end right now. Thanks for all the replies!

How hard is it to change the rear end gears? could i put my 3.23s in my 3.73 rear end when i get it before i put it in the car. Would i be able to do this myself? Please help me out, any advice is useful. THanks again and in advance

it's not exactly hard it just takes some special tools, and trial and error to get everything to mesh properly

dial indicator is the big one many people don't have. Get a manual that has the step by step with pictures

to get a good one you need to go to a good tool supply, runs around $100 for a decent one

if you don't like whining and replacing the gear from wear. You have to check the mesh. I usually pay someone to do it (I don't pay someone else to do much if I can help it either)

so am i better off putting the whole rear end in with the 3.73 gears or should I change the gears for like 400 bucks...which i dont have?

depends on price and milage, if doing used go for the whole thing, for a yard to seperate the internals means the housing is junk, usually bent not real healthy
