What's the difference?
#2
there is baseline camaro which is v6, then Camaro Z-28, then Camaro SS which is a Z-28 but has different wheels, springs, shocks, exhaust supposedly but not really sure whats different, and also has a tighter shifter and biggest thing is the Hood which is ram air on LT1 cars. the camaro has a SS specific spoiler whereas a WS6 (pontiac's SS) has either the normal spoiler or high-rise which can be had on regular Trans Am's. also WS6 can be on a trans am or a formula.

I think the difference in exhaust is that the SS and WS6 went to SLP to get all their options put on, so they have the SLP exhaust. The SS also has more power than the Z28 I believe they had between 305 and 325 depending on the year.

This Link will take you to a site that will tell you all the different details about each individual Camaro from 1967 through 2002.
http://www.Camarosource.ca Once you get there, click on 4th Generation, then scroll down about halfway, and on the left hand side you'll see all the different years. Just click on each year you're interested in, and it will take you through all the specifics.

One day I asked a question about the dual cats on my 96, and he (CamaroSource.ca founder) posted up saying that dual cats didn't show up on 4th Gen's until 98. Man you should have seen all the people post up after I told him that I had an Original untouched 96 Camaro with dual cats, and that everything I read about the newer Camaros said that 96 was the first year for dual cats, the OBD II, and the return of the SS.
Upon further review, he immedietly came back and said: "Ok, your right, I was given some bad information, so it's been corrected. Everything else he's had there has been right on though.

no the brakes are the same. maybe different pads, ceramic maybe, but same size as z28.
and you guys are wrong about the WS6. technically it cannot be compared to an SS. the WS6 was a from the factory option. SLP made the Firehawk, which is the equivalent of the SS.

no 4th gen doesnt work like 3rd. RS are strictly v6. it works like this:
93-95 base camaro w/3.4L v6 - $3000-$4500
96-2002 base camaro w/3.8L v6 - $5000-$9000
96-97 rs camaro w/3.8L v6 and GFX - $5500-$6500
98-02 rs camaro w/3.8 v6 - $6000-$10000
93-97 z28 camaro w/5.7L LT1 - $4000-$7000
98-02 z28 camaro w/5.7L LS1 - $8000-$15000
96-97 ss camaro w/LT1 - $7000-$10000
98-02 ss camaro w/LS1 - $9000-$18000
of course those prices are estimates...but give you an idea. i just bought a 95 z28 for 6200 with 140,000 miles (yeah, i got ripped) but then in december i bought a 97 trans am with 61,000 miles for 7250.
yeah the douche with the WS6 doesnt even know his own car
and just to give more detail about RSs...96-97 only had ground effects and spoiler. 98-02 didnt have the same ground effects in the RS, instead all models during those years had the option of the RS kit. SLP made an RS from 98-02 and just added badges stripes and wheels.
and the y87 wasnt only RSs...some base 3.8L camaros came with the package consisting of dual exit exhaust, rear disc brakes, gears, LSD, and steering rack.
