I love the fact that they were denied bail.....yet someone who gets arrested on gun charges in TO is released on bail, and goes and kills someone.....with another gun.

Yeah, dangerous driving is a problem....but the media and government need to stop turning the focus away from other issues that are just as bad or if not worse than dangerous driving.

Where are the tougher gun laws? They can violate your rights by seizing your car and impounding it before you're even convicted, but because they didn't give you a bail hearing in a timely fashion, they can release you on gun charges and give you $2000 for undue process.....

My other question, is what happens if an officer makes a mistake, impounds your sole means of transportation, suspends your license (that I need for my job), and then you are found innocent. Who picks up the tab on the towing, impound and lost wages?

You do.

They get their money, either way.

I can understand parts of the new law. Absolutely, 50 over, go ahead, take my car.

Spinning my Azenis in the rain by accident? That isn't street racing. It never was, it never will be. The government as a whole can go fvck itself. I'm not voting in the Ontario election, and once some of the debt I have is payed off I'm permenantly leaving Canada. I've had enough of our mamby-pamby weaksauce government making poor decisions and the general public ends up biting the bullet. Its not democratic. This country has gone to hell and its continuing to do so.

bring back Mike Harris

at least he did what he said he was going to do.

Z-Tuned 10-10-2007 11:47 AM

^^^ Amen brother. At least he had the balls to follow through on some tough decisions. Dalton and his gang just pass stuff over on groups that he knows won't organize to oppose.

Imaging if they cracked down on truckers or cabbies...you better believe there would be 1000 vehicles storming Queens Park and crippling traffic.

So IVPERFORMANCE you gonna man-up and go protest with me? I'm down for whatever if anybody wants to do more than talk, this is my hobby and my livelihood in the performance industry.

yeah Im trying to get something together in that ****ing facebook group, but some kid is hoping that someone will challenge this in court, the group is called "Car Enthusiasts against bill 203" almost 450 memebers, join in i think we can get something together there.

2 Idiots casue 2 deaths. Criminal negligence causing manslaughter. Didn't really need a re-write of the HTA to tell me that. What the hell did they do about it before sept 30? Tell them they were naughty and send them on their way? What about going 50 over? hasn't that always been a gigantic fine and license suspension? Damn election years. All McGuinty is really trying to do is slight of hand magic, making you look at something while you forget about everything he muffed up during his previous tenure as premier. At least that's my opinion on things and Im' sticking to them.

RonBurgundy 10-10-2007 11:20 PM

well looks like dickhead mcguinty is back in. next on his slate......new car rebates for people who drive 20 below the 100 km/h limit.

I'd be right there with you, but I have no time. This ignorance pisses me off more then anything.

Here's what I read in the paper.

Witnesses say they were doing moch 13, bla bla bla, idiots. A car passes you doing 10 over and you think its 80over.

The kid passes the transport truck on the gravel, when he got back on the road after passing the truck, he lost controll and somehow the accident happened (it didnt say hoe it occured).

Older bro was behind transport truck the whole time.

They were (before lil bro pulled his stunt) driving single file in the curb lane.

Cops and witnesses say transport truck was driving the speed limit.

Ok, here are my issues with this.
1. I dont see why the hell the older bro lost his ride, was charged, etc... as he did'nt do anything, stopped long before the accident scene cuz the truck he was behind stopped before the accident scene.
2. If they were single file behind the truck and the truck WAS NOT speeding, how could they be speeding? (other than what they did 10 Kms up the road)
3. I've drivin on that road many times and I've NEVER seen ANYONE do the limit there (from Hwy 7 all the way into Bolton). 110/120 is normal there, I do it there just so no one plows into me from the back. Those stop lights change quick and ppl allways run them. That road is dangerous by design.

I say teach Jr. a lesson he well deserves. How can you not know driving on gravel over 30-50 Kms wont spin you out or leave dust on yer wheels making it difficult to controll when re-emerging into t paved lane. It can be as slippery or more so than snow/ice. This of course is based on the fact that there was gravel and not just crappy pavement on the shoulder - I dunno, Im guessing gravel, otherwise Jr. really can't drive. Just plain dumb and dangerous. Maybe he thought he was havin fun, maybe he had road rage. Guess who his target would be if it were road rage? Prolly the 2 dead.

And I say leave the older bro out of it.

Lenny_Z28 10-18-2007 10:17 PM

^^^ completely true, these cops and stupid ass "witnesses" which are probably some old grannyies with bottle cap glasses telling the cops the "real" story, those are the ppl that have to get the fvck off the roads this second. iv been closer to crashing wait no totaling my car by dumm ass old drivers or ppl that just cant drive and u wonder how the hell did they get their licence???? then by some one speeding past me. all these laws do is put more money in the goverments pockets so that the economy can keep rolling in their favour. these laws are making the driving situation here worse then the driving situation in my home country and thats a 3rd world country, im not saying stuff there is perfect but canadian laws and goverment the way they are going is getting closer and closer to that low end level.
