yea really, i might get a better set of tires but its better to learn how to drive using a street setup so you cna transfer the skills. meh im happy with what my motor puts out, knowing ive done all the work and what not. 178whp/165tq is enough for me.

go away...
dont ever think to compare a civic to a ferrari ever again. A ferrari is: history, prestige, wealth... a civic: ricers dream, cheap auto, daily beater.

He compared them on how rare they are.

Just because your friends drive around in their d-series civics doesn't mean you have to take out your anger on everyone else.

see the problem with driving a car with torque is its very easy to loose traction. if i spin tires, a bloody minivan could beat me. both tires lock cuz of the LSD, so if they spin im not going anywhere. i have yet to be at a track myself, and whay would you break at the track?? ( drag strip ) do you drive differently?

I think you should get out of the automotive scene if you seriously can not answer that question yourself.

Track = stickier, even on your same street tires. And for Brownkid's case, he made a comment about tires, so i imagine that implys slicks. Slicks + power + civic + good launch = broken driveshafts.

ahh i love this, you can brake axels with cars that have less torque, but i should go home .... track tires are useless as you learn only how to drive your car on the track, you cant take what youve learned and use street tires cuz they are just different. i guess honda driveshafts suck cuz ive launched plenty of times and have never had any problems.

oh and btw, im a first year apprentice, if you cant learn how to drive your car without the fear of braking something then you need to learn how to launch a car without putting too much strees on certain things.

The only reason your driveshaft/AXLE's are fine is because it's made for stock spec. Your probably stock considering your just a first year apprentice not a level 7 apprentice like I am.

If anything that's gonna go for me, it's my diff. The one's in these platforms are made of glass.

ahh once again. well since purchasing my car, ive done a cam upgrade ( no timing belts on a VR they use chains, check that out it isnt easy). no power steering or A/C, lightend flywheel and pullies. the car has plenty of torque, stock axels, i have replaced one after the cv joint snapped. thats the other thing. FWD cars wouldnt snap driveshafts in half or anything like that, your more likely to snap the CV joint itself. im no where near a licenced mechanic but i have decent experiance within the last year simply by working on my car myself. the cam job was done pretty much blind eye as i have never done anything like it before and i just read up on it and did it. i know enough to know what im talking about when it comes to certain things. alls im saying is if guys have their cars setup for street racing, why not learn how to drive it that way on the same setup when you hit a track. if you learn your car with street tires first, you then learn the difference when you upgrade to track tires.

PS: the engine in my car wasnt even in production when my car was built, so to say the least it isnt stock yet its using 4cyl axels on a 6cyl motor.

hahahahahahahaha ur car makes more tq than mine but yet u still lost to a stock gsr bubble which makes a lot less hp and tq that u... so maybe u need to learn how to drive... if ur so cocky let jus run on the street.... u pic the street im there... theres a lot you need to learn about racing...btw didnt u also lose to the gsr off the line??

oh man i love this, see my car makes more torque, so first off its alot easier to spin tires. i didnt own the car for very long when i raced and i never launched the car before then. i dont street race becuase ive almost been cuaght on several accasions. ive said to hit the track but everyone has their own reasons why they wont hit a track so im not even gonna waste time with street racing.
unfortunately everyone takes one event and bases their opinions on it. ask anyone who saw that race how much smoke their was off my winter tires considering this was sometime in december if im not mistaken. and i not cocky, i just have confidence in what ive built, i beat my car dialy and never have any problems. its track ready everyday in that it doesnt need anything to go take it for a few drag runs, problem with street racing is theirs variables ( cars coming out, this that and the other ) drag strips theres a winner and loser.

i dont build my cars to street race their all they get is just suspension mods.

a good street racer always has a book of excuses.
get CAA! didnt build your car for the track meaning you cheaped out on the axels?
