Weare looking forward to meeting all of you, and with your help, making this years show, the greatest Camaro Superfest ever. In an effort to keep the Superfest fresh and exciting, we have a few exciting changes in store for all of our participants. Being a Camaro fan, I will let you in on what I believe, is one of the most exciting things to happen at this years Superfest.

At this years Charity banquet, we will have the honor of having the brand New Concept Camaro. We are also honored to have the General Motors Design Team, Tom Peters and Brian Smith, as our guest speakers this year. It has also been confirmed that the F-Bod Father himself, Scott Settlermire, will be attending our Banquet. Senses the unveiling of the New Concept Camaro, these gentlemen have been pulled from all directions. I feel honored that they have agreed to take time out of their busy schedules to come and visit with us, and bring there new baby with them. If you have not seen this car in person…it is a must! Pictures do not do it justice, it is absolutely awesome!! Move over Mustang’s the Camaro is back with class, charm, and speed!!

There will also be a silent auction at the banquet, benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities. I have it on good authority that the GM Design Team will be bringing parts or items concerning the concept car, for this raffle. It will be a very exciting night.

We have also moved our host hotel to the Ypsilanti Marriott at Eagle Crest. The hotel offers several places to eat and drink, a classy friendly atmosphere, plush rooms and ample parking. Speaking of parking, all registered hotel guest will have a numbered parking spot at the hotel, it is theirs for the weekend. No more trying to save your parking spot, and having some little import try to park by your car. You will be issued a key chain with your number on it, and it is that easy. If you have more than one person with your group, we will do our best to accommodate all of you.

We have also moved our show site this year, to Riverside Park in Ypsilanti Michigan. The show is about 1-1/2 miles from the Marriott. The park has a paved road going though it, and grassy areas to park on. It also has a beautiful river, and board walk, taking you from the park to Depot Town. Depot Town, is our Friday night cruise town. We are blocking off the streets at 6:00p.m. until 8:30p.m., for a down home gathering. We will line both side of the streets with your awesome Camaro’s. We will have a DJ, and there will be several restaurant/bars open for you to relax and watch the show. Depot Town has, two museums, there is an old Hudson Car Dealership museum, and an Old Fire House museum, all in walking distance of Depot Town and Riverside Park.

Friday afternoon, there will be a Road Rally, the first 100 people registered, will receive a free T-Shirt. There will be a trophy given to the one with the best mileage, and the most answers correct. This is just a fun rally, nothing to do with speed, it will last a couple of hours. Also, anyone interested in golfing, there is an 18 hole golf course located at the Marriott. We have called and gotten a price for our show, it is $49, this includes, one person, cart, and 18 holes. Please call a head for T-Times the number is: 734-487-2441. Tell them you are with the Camaro Superfest and Dave is the contact person.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at: tammysz28@yahoo.com. I am looking forward to meeting all of you. Thank you for your time.

Hello from CAMARO SUPERFEST 2006 Registrations...
We look forward to receiving your entry form for our event, either via mail or through our online registration process. We're excited that you have selected to join with hundreds of others to attend our great event and look forward to seeing you in July.

Just a quick reminder on mail-in registrations, it generally takes about a week or so to process your entry form, once we receive it. Then it can take another week or so for your check to be deposited in the bank. This is due to our clubs being volunteer organizations and we meet about twice a month and that is the time I hand off whatever I have to the Treasurer.

As for online registrations, these get collected by our web-master and sent to me about once every week or so. I believe you also receive an acknowledgement from PayPal when your payment goes through, so you have slightly more advance notice of your payment.

I am more than happy to double check on your entry form... just call or
(better) email me and I'll look into your entry form and let you know it has arrived or I'm still waiting for it. And remember, you will receive a full acceptance letter with all of the event updates and schedules before the event. These are mailed out starting in late May.

Again, THANKS for entering CAMARO SUPERFEST 2006 and we'll see you in July!

Hello fellow camaro enthusiast...
June 30th is just around the corner, and planning for Superfest is shaping up nicely.
Riverside Park is in bloom, the residence in Depot Town are excited to meet all of you,
and to see your beautiful cars. I have met with everyone at the Marriott Hotel; they are also looking forward to welcoming you.

We are working out final details for the Camaro Concept Car, and the display for the
banquet. This looks to be a great program for everyone that will be involved.
General Motors has quite a display planned. Make sure you register and get your banquet
tickets as soon as possible. We already have less than 120 tickets available, no others
will be issued. The banquet will be the only place at this years Superfest, to view the
concept car. It will also be the place to meet with the Gm Design Team, Tom Peters and
Brian Smith, and of course our F-Bod Father Scott Settlemire, these people are responsible for bringing the Camaro back to us. This is history in the making, don’t miss
out.

We will be having our charity auction at the banquet again this year. This year's auction
will be benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities. I have it on good
authority, that Tom Peters will be bringing some very cool concept design parts, used
on the concept car, and signed by the design team, for this auction. I am sure these will be very hot items, remember it is for charity.

We have some great events planned this year. On Friday afternoon, we will be having
a road rally. It will start around 1:00pm at the Marriott, and end up back at the Marriott,
at around 4:00pm. There will be a couple of stops on the route. There are some old
dinners that are still in business in Ypsilanti, they still have car hops, this should be a
good photo opportunity and a good place to get a treat.

When you return to the Marriott, you will have a little break to clean and shine your ride,
before we head 1-1/2 miles down the road to our cruise in night at Depot Town. There
will be a DJ, and several restaurants available for a nice dinner or a cold drink. There
will also be an old Hudson Car Museum to visit, they were one of the originals. Superfest has a special price of $2.00, there is a lot of Michigan history there, make sure
you check it out. There is also an old Fire House Museum it is just the next block up,
if you like the big old fire trucks, this is the place.

When we are done at Depot Town, we will all head back to the Marriott, were there
will be reserved parking for all our registered hotel guest. You will have a numbered parking spot that is yours for the weekend. No more trying to save a spot, or having some (not camaro) car pulling beside you. This should also be the beginning of the
car show after the car show. We will have everyone together in the lot, the picture
taking will be great, and we are encouraging everyone to hang out for an extended evening get together in the parking lot. There will be at least two water hoses to use for clean up at the Marriott, so feel free to get ready for the next days show.

We look forward to meeting all of you, Thank you

Judging Classifications and Categories...

The following is an explanation and breakdown on the classifications and categories that are used in determining which class your Camaro will fall into for judging purposes.

ORIGINAL/UNRESTORED:
For "ORIGINAL" Camaro's that have not been restored in any form. This includes original paint, sheet metal, interiors and other major components. Minor paint touch-up is allowed, but any obvious attempt at detailing will move the vehicle into the STOCK-RESTORED CLASS. All other stock-restored rules also apply to this classification.

STOCK/RESTORED:
For "STOCK" Camaro's that have not been modified in any way. These cars will have all factory stock parts as could be ordered, with the following exceptions: radio, tires, battery, hose's and other normal maintenance type items. However there are exceptions to these exceptions, ALL replacement parts MUST be a STOCK APPEARING part.
Examples are as follows:

RADIOS - you can change from AM to AM/FM/Cassette as long as it fits in the dash like a stock radio. If there are extras, like graphic equalizers, power boosters, extra speakers in non-stock locations, this radio is now considered a modification and will move this Camaro into STREET Class.
TIRES - you can have radial tires on a first generation Camaro and remain in Stock Class as long as all four tires match brand and size and are within one size of original equipment. Different brands front to rear, different sizes front to rear or oversized tires will be considered a modification and move this Camaro into STREET Class.
EXHAUST - exhaust items naturally wear out and need to be replaced. This is fine as long as it's size and appearance is stock. Aftermarket turbo mufflers, cat-back systems, H pipes, over sized pipes, shortened or side outlets, etc. will be considered a modification and will move this Camaro into STREET Class.
BODY - headlight and taillight covers, paint accents, extra pinstriping, wrong year hoods/scoops/spoilers, window louvers or add-on window tinting will be considered a modification and will move this Camaro into STREET Class.
OTHER - mag wheels and aftermarket chrome engine dress-up items are not allowed in STOCK Class and will be considered a modification and will move this Camaro into STREET Class.

STREET:
This class is for slightly modified Camaro's. This is where the mag wheels, headers, scoops, etc. are allowed.

MODIFIED:
This class is for a more extensively modified Camaro.

SHOW CAR CLASS:
Cars in this class must have modifications in all 5 major areas; Engine/Engine compartment, Paint/Body, Interior, Undercarriage and Wheels/Tires. This class is aimed at highly modified Camaro's which show an obvious potential for indoor type car shows.

PRO STREET:
These types of cars are set apart from modified cars by one very important modification, narrowed rear ends. All Camaro's with this modification will be in this class.

COMPETITION:
This class is for drag cars, road racers and stock car racers. Racing tires, roll bars/cages and other racing modifications should make these Camaros stand out to qualify for this class.

In determining whether your car is in STREET or MODIFIED class, the classifier will count the number of modifications that are done to your car. If your car has FOUR modifications or less, it will be in the STREET class. FIVE or more will put you in MODIFIED.

CLASSIFICATION MODIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The following is an explanation of the types of modifications the classifier will be looking for and how they will effect the modification count. There are five major areas where you can make modifications to your car. They are as follows:

Engine/Engine compartment:
a) Basic bolt-on engine mods; carb, headers, intake
b) Basic dress-up; chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner, and/or any
commercially available chrome dress-up item(s)
c) Extensive engine mods; blower, multiple carbs, turbocharger, mods will not count
separately but collectively. This modification over rides basic engine mods.
d) Extensive engine dress-up; chroming of non-commercially available items such as
brackets, pulleys, braces, etc.; braided hoses or hose covers; custom painting in
engine compartment.
THERE IS A MAXIMUM OF 3 MODIFICATION POINTS POSSIBLE FROM ENGINE/ENGINE COMPARTMENT.

Paint/Body:
a) Paint; anything from a major paint accent (discretion of the classifier) to a full
custom paint job.
b) Body; non-stock scoops, flares, spoilers, molded body seams, etc..
THERE IS A MAXIMUM OF 2 POSSIBLE MODIFICATION POINTS IN PAINT/BODY.

Interior:
a) Custom upholstery, roll bars, aftermarket seats, removed rear seats,
aftermarket radio's, steering wheels, shifters and gage pods will count as a
modification.
THERE IS ONE POSSIBLE MODIFICATION POINT FOR INTERIOR.

Undercarriage:
a) Any suspension change, such as sub-frame connectors, ladder bars,
straight axles, etc.
b) Paint or chrome detailing of undercarriage. Basically, any attempt
to go beyond a normal cleaning of the undercarriage area. Non-stock
rear end covers and bolt-on traction bars are a modification.
THERE IS A MAXIMUM OF 2 POSSIBLE MODIFICATION POINTS FOR UNDERCARRIAGE.

Wheels & Tires:
Any non-stock wheels or wrong year stock wheels or hubcaps. Tires are maintenance items and are not included unless larger than original size or vary in size and brand from front to rear.
THERE IS A MAXIMUM OF ONE MODIFICATION POINT FOR WHEELS & TIRES.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE THE CLASSIFIERS MAKE ANY "JUDGMENT CALL" ON ANY AREA THAT MAY NOT BE COVERED IN THE ABOVE GUIDELINES. ANY DECISIONS MADE BY THE CLASSIFIERS ARE FINAL. THE MAIN INTENT IS TO MAKE THESE CLASSIFICATIONS AND JUDGING AS FAIR AND FUN AS POSSIBLE TO ALL CAMARO'S AND THEIR OWNERS. HAVE FUN & WE HOPE YOU WIN!

Road Rally...

The road rally this year is a gimmick style rally. Meaning the directions will be in a cryptic style, ie..L at fork, means turn left at fork. The route is through south-central Michigan and we will be touring the Ididit, inc. showroom and factory in Tecumseh, Mi. Of course no road rally is complete without a stop at an ice cream shop and the final destination will be a drive-in restaurant. There should be some great photo-ops along the way and a nice drive through the countryside of Michigan. So don't forget to sign up, remember the first 100 will receive a Rally t-shirt. The rally starts at around 1pm on Friday, so particpants that are traveling should have time to make it. We look forward to seeing you and your Camaro!

Thank you,
Randy S. Martin
