Each man paid $10 for a $30 room. Room ends up being $25. Bellhop cannot split $5 into 3 men, so he keeps $2 for himself, and gives the blokes back $1 each ($3).
However, the video then says "if each man got a dollar back, each one only paid $9". So $9 x 3 = $27. Then it goes on to say that the Bellhop kept $2 for himself, and proceeds to add the $2 to the total, to bring it to $29. But that's incorrect. What you should do is subtract the $2, to bring the total to $25 (the cost of the room), then add the $5 they should have gotten back as a refund to bring the grand total to $30.
There is no 'other dollar'.
