Wow, the S2000, the torqueless wonder. What does it have, 240hp and 156flbs or torque?? Big deal. You have to kill the car to get anything out of it. And not all V8s are 5 liter engines. There's many more configurations than the 5 liter out there.

e.g. the 4.5 Infinity Rocketship

And plus...how long do cavies and sunfires last? its like their computers are programmed to self destruct at 200,00km!!! My buddy has a 92 civic with almost 600,000 original kms on it, and it still squacks 2nd second gear!!! wooooh!!

If you are going to compare something to civics, dont make is J-Body cars.

They are as un-reliable as they come. Make it a fair fight.

so what even with no torque the s2000 still rips a stock 89 stang that has 300 torque. Torque is overated.

my 4500 lb pick up truck will beat one too.
Why dont you compare that fairly new s2000 to somthing a little newer.
How about an 03 cobra.

On a side note, if anyone is interested in trying out my stock 5.0 liter V8 that apparently can't beat pickup trucks and S2000's, please send me a PM in april.

You're comparing a supercharged v8 to a little 4 cylinder.
2003 Cobra has 390hp with 390torque runs a 12.9
2001 Acura Nsx has 290 hp with 224torque runs a 12.9.(13.0)
2001 S2000 has 240hp with 153torque runs a 14.1
nissan 350z has 287hp with 274torque runs a 14.3

I'm not saying torque is not important because it is, especially in heavy cars and even luxury cars to provide that steady smooth acceleration. I just think alot of people big it up a bit too much sometimes.
I would take 200hp and 150tq over 150hp and 200tq anyday.

It probably can't. Alot of older stock stangs are slow they run a high 14, low 15. I used to smoke stangs in my stock Bmw 328 and continue to beat them in my Acura 3.2cl type-s.

.

Whats the difference??
you were comparing a late model higher end sports car to an almost 20 year old 2+2 coupe
I just thought you should be comparing it to somthing a bit newer.

acctually no the hemis in most modern dodge/chrysler vehicles (srt-8 motors) run low - mid 13s

also dunt forget these cars weight about 4000 lbs if not more

dunt worry, you don't need torque to move ur half-a-car, it is good to have when driving a real car. If you want to sacrifice your safety by driving a sub 2000lb car its ur life.

Oh and turbos were invented to make engines more efficient. Whatever you can do to your mighty 4banger, if you do to a big v8 ull obviously get way better results.

I agree on that statement, Turbo V8s are sick...

Even my 3.8L V6 has a bit of pull when I stuff 26 psi in it...
