Drag strip in GTA( again).

Or just outside GTA.
I know this subject has been on a bunch lately .
Here are some things I,ve been thinking about . guys have come on and posted about building a strip or using local airports. But does anybody really know what its like to run a strip . Maybe the admins could get one of the local strip owners to come on and talk about the details of a drag strip . ie insurance , govt rules an regs. Finances etc etc .
The owners could give us their point of veiw on why govt is against new strips . Points of veiw on when mto is outside theyre venue doing spotchecks . Maybe even a question forum , for site members to owners and vice versa.
Now before you all start looking for rags matches an gas cans . I realize that a strip owner would probably want to keep a distance from a site deals with the subject of illegal street racing , but it cant hurt to ask .
Another thing is why cant we have small time mom an pop strips like they do in the states ??. If you go on dragstrip locater , theres like 15 strips listed in Kentucky ??? Why do we have to have strips that you gotta be a millionaire just to contemplate building one . I talk/message a guy that is a buddy of mine who,s moved to the states . Theres a strip 10 miles from where he is . the timing tower is a 30 ft long camper resting on top of a 45 ft highway trailer ( which is the ticket booth/head office ). They have like 10 part time employees .some portsa potties a ambulance service and some food vending trucks show up . He says there is any where from 100 to 400 cars nearly every fri an sat nite . Plus spectators .
like if the feds an provicials can give out loans for first time business adventures . Y not a strip ??..77.
P/S he says the track is not as trailer trash as it sounds .

the fact that was brought up in the other threads was the noise level produced by race cars. there are very loud and affect certain regulation and restrictions. yea, i've seen those "backyard" drag strips down south... they pretty cool

Noise, what a bunch of bullshit. What makes more noise... cars with full exhaust systems racing down a drag strip or sirens rushing to an accident scene after some kids wrap their cars around a pole because they lost control while street racing. This noise issue is just an excuse. If they really wanted to build a track they would overcome this noise issue by implementing noise restrictions, ie exhaust sound level limits which could be measured on site with proper equipment. If you're car doesn't fall under the requirement, you don't race that night... simple as that. Or they could just put it in an unpopulated area, or an area that already has a high level of ambient noise.

^ Exactly!

Keep it open only to street legal cars, therefore you don't have to deal with these rediculously loud cars.

But make sure it isn't the MTO inspecting the cars...Private track inspectors.

Easy solution to the noise concern, put it across from the airport. There's a large area near Midway rd off of Dixie, or off of Brittania off Dixie, again near the airport. Noise problem solved.

these are actually really good solutions to the bullshit excuses theyre giving us. who could we forward these ideas to, to maybe get them to build us a track?

whats the point of even discussing it, there will probably NEVER be a new track close by. our country's run by idiots with retarded cops who would rather pull over modified cars while driving speed limit than protecting & serving the community.

Here,s an example of what I mean . Car Craft , august 2006 , on shelves now . page # 90 , the anti tour article . Its mentioned racelegal.com has been holding street legal type drags in the parking lot of a football stadium . In a pic of a sign that says welcome to racelegal racing , racing from 6 to 12 . there is a quote that says " was formed to be an alternative to street racing with co op from cops . According to statistics it is working ".
My original post is why cant we have this stuff in Canada . Let the pimple faces in mommys bmw/benzino/hummer 4 dr accord /camry do what they do out on the streets and let the racers race ...somewhere ..
Just a few thoughts on the subject . I,m not a force in the street racing scene and not close to gta . Like an hour away . But I,m pretty sure there is someone on board with enuff smarts to find something in this postings useful to the cause ...without getting busted ..77.

The real racers are racing at Cayuga and other tracks. So many cars are drivin in there and not trailered. Its the street racers that want an excuse to do it on the streets, thats all. . . plain and simple, if you want to race legit goto cayuga. you can spend $XX,XXX on your car but find Cayuga too far to goto???? BULLSHIT!! Like i said, its just an excuse to street race, "if there was a track near by i wouldn't street race" is a bullshit line if i ever heard one. Most of you guys on the street are too afraid to hit the track anyways, A track in the GTA area wouldn't do anything to curb street racing.

cant agree with you on this one, and not all cars at tracks have spent 10's of thousands of dollars on their cars
