mod week.
Well I went and picked up my alum ds today. Its a lot shorter, and A LOT lighter than I thought. Hopefully Ill get to put in next weekend with my other stuff
I dunno why, but my gears are still creeking at times after I give it WOT or drive above 70ish. It seems like everytime I get back to my apt they sound creeky... Doesnt seem normal to me. I dunno if its just cause they werent orginally together or what, but is it supposed to make noise like that? Should I be worried about somthing wearing down? I just want to know if I should go back to him and its somthing that should be fixed.
Somedays after all the sounds my car starts making I just want to sell her and start over

And I agree they should make noise, but should they sound like they came out of a 1940 truck? Im more curious as to weather they are wearing badly, or lack of lube or somthing.

Good luck with the driveshaft install. It's pretty straight forward. I put one in my 3.4 Camaro. Don't worry about the size, it'll fit fine.
As for the gears I'd take it to another place and see what they say. They'll be honest since they won't be putting their own work down.

Your driveshaft isn't shorter. It just looks that way because it's one piece instead of that two piece hunk of crap the V6s came stock with.
Paar, I went with an Auburn Clutch-type Positraction unit and 3.42s, and mine never made that noise. I'd get it checked out.

Yea I posted a thread on one last forum... the guy who installed them saw it haha... he told me to come by someday and hell take a ride with me. As long as its not hurting anything, I really dont think Ill care that much... Otherwise I might talk to him about possibly buying a posi from him, maybe just doing it over

I know mine are out of a TA... cant think of the year.
Its not only them squeeking, but they also make a clicking type of sound when I am reversing. doesnt feel right either... I gotta stop over at his house someday soon.
