Sweet Pictures.....Oh, I love Exotic pets. I just sold my 4 foot Green Iguana and a 125 gallon fish tank with All kinds of Exotic fish. My favorite was the 2 1/2 foot Black Arowana and 18" Clown Knife. Between those two, they would eat over 100 goldfish a week.

I've never had a scorpion though, but I think they're very cool. I'm really diggin your new one too, I like the color of it.

i woke up with one of those black ones in my bed one time, not sure if it was the same one because i dont really know anything about scorpions but it looked excataly the same and it definatly scared the hell out of me lol

I've always been big on exotic animals. I've owned about a dozen snakes, some strange fish, lizards. I'm planning on buying some more scorpions, and possibly a tarantula before this year is out. I'm probably buying my husband either a hedgehog or an arrow frog (Panamanian Green & Black Auratus) for our anniversary this fall. He loves frogs.



Next on my scorpion list is Olive Keeled Flat Rock, and Red Thick-tail (Babycurus jacksoni)



Those two are next. One will probably be my anniversary present, and one my birthday. Like Imp was.

just curious how expensive are scorpions like the bottom one in ur last post are they cheap or do the prices get up there when u are getting a rare one?

They range in prices like most exotics. My Emperor cost $15. They usually range from $10-20. THe Desert Hairy was $35. Other species that harder to get, more poisionous, etc cost more. Also not all pet stores can or will get them for you, so that means online ordering from breeders. And that will have about a $30 shipping fee on top of the price for the scorp. The two I listed are $25 and $15 plus shipping. The red one is significantly poisonous.

You would be best going out and catching some in the wild, considering where you live, there is a plethora of scoprion species.

yea i know their are tons out here along with all other kinds of poisonous animals but i wouldnt even know what to catch i always see them but im usually not in the mood to get stung andi cant tell which is which just because ive never really researched it

use a scoop or tongs to pick them up, don't handle them with your hands. Never handle with you hands! I don't handle either of mine by hand. I could the little yellow. i pick her up by tongs on her last 'tail' segment, but I can't handle the black one that way at all. He will actually bend into a u and grab the tongs with his pincers. He has to be scooped into a small box for cleaning time. Neither of the two I have are medically dangerous UNLESS you have an allergic reaction. Since you live in Arizona, the Desert Hairy scorpion is probably pretty common in the pet stores that have exotic animals out there, and you most likely wouldn't have to pay as much as I did, considering they are an AZ species. Samw with the Black Hairy Scorpion. They are a good starter scorp.
