Noise Pollution Laws?

Do you have noise pollution laws where you live preventing you from playing your music too loud in certain areas or at certain times? Where I live, no loud noise can be made in residential areas from 11pm to 6am.

We have similar laws where I live. If you get caught playing loud music during those hours you get a heavy fine.

It also applies to excessively loud engines (I think)

I've heard of it applying to engines in a lot of places...like Los Angeles, for instance. I don't think it applies where I am because I don't think they ever would have gotten the law passed with the amount of loud engines, both cars and work trucks, here!

In my area no matter what time of day it is if you are loud and disturbing your neighbors then you can be fined or at least reprimanded by the police. This is because of the shift workers who may sleep during the day.
