if your rich, I used up the GI bill I got (wasn't much since I never finished my 8 years) can get some assistance from the army, but they told me the wait was 5 years and it's only 10 grand

Didn't you say you never made it out of AIT? Cause I know the rules now are unless you stay atleast 3 years in, you don't get the GI Bill money...

nope, but because it was a medical discharge (not to mention 11 years ago) they gave me the disabled benifits (which really suck) they used to do it monthly I have read that changed about 5 or 6 years ago

yeah, the military was how ryan planned on going to college. but after his first full year, he ended up getting a medical discharge, and now he has no money for school.

I joined in '99 and back then it was you pay $100 a month for 12 months, then after three years you can use it. After that you could put in to the kicker, which was like another $600. After the three years, the $1800 turned into something ridiculous like $34,000. Seems stupid to use it while you are in though, cause we get 100% tuition assistance too...
