PGR4 rant/discussion.
Ok, I got this game a few weeks ago, just left it on the shelf, as I played Forza2 until my first wireless controller gave out on me. Finally stuck PGR4 in today, ran a bunch of races, then came across the most evil ****ed up hardest challenge I've seen in a video game since the Mercedes mission on GT4. Some sick bastard thought it would be good to have you try and run a sub 9 minute lap of the Nurburgring in a 1960's open wheel racecar.
Now, I'm all for challenges, I run most of my racing games on hard, and figured, ****in eh, open wheel vintage car, on the Ring. What could be more fun? Well, when the race finished loading, it was on the 12 mile Nordschleife, in the ****ING SNOW. So, I'm sitting there, waiting for the car to get to the start line, it's a running start, thinking holy , this is gonna be impossible. Well, it was. Took me about 8 tries, to get below the 9 minute mark, and I had like 8000 kudos points or something like that, from having the car sideways for 12 miles. I wanna do it again now.

There's a Caparro T1, that's as close to F1 as PGR gets. Just found that same time trial again, got to do it this time, in 6:19, with a Joss supercar.
And, yeah, I've played Forza alot. Need to get online to upload my pics, got a wicked 640hp MK2 Golf GTI, AWD, U999, somewhere around 500 layers of vinyl, looks like it's all rusted, with mismatched body panels, and my Ontario liscense plate on it. I've got close to 600 miles on that car. LOL, not including the 60 or so laps of the Ring I've done in it, practice laps don't show on the mileage in history.
OK, edit, The Eurpoean Masters tournament has a 2 lap race on the Ring in snow. However, you have about 8 cars, and 4 bikes to choose from. Yeah, you can run the Ring on a GSXR1300 Hayabusa in the snow. Realistic...

I did it on hard, I think the time was 9:15 on medium, and 8:25 on hard. Yeah, I spun twice on the first one, and would have made the medium, but I like the challenge, so I left it on hard. On medium, the game is just too easy.
