THey do it to add suspense... Okay, lets picture the show running one car that has 400hp vs one with 600, and they run heads up every race. Im pretty sure the 600hp is gonna win 3 right in a row, so where is the suspense? You forget this is a tv show, and they have to keep the viewers guessing whats gonna happen. So to make it fair they use lengths to give the car with lesser power a chance... They are afterall racing for titles. Would you give up your car that easy racing heads up every race? I think not. I personally dont mind it, it keeps me guessing whats gonna happen. The only thing I dont like on that show is when both crews get into a . At least one driver on that show is always a *****.

I agree with that totally. Its the reason I quit watching that show. Its not a race if you ask for lengths. If you can't run heads up, don't run. But that video just makes that car looks really really sad. 20 lengths. Horrible. That Trans Am deiver was the most calm, respectful driver I've seen on that show. Usually they are all jerks.
