i've got a grand am and it does the job but i'd trade my car for an import any day, why....because they are more reliable and you can actually get parts way cheaper than domestic cars, and as for making it look decent, most domestic cars cost way more to do when you compare it to a civic or an accord or a teg again its because of the market thats out there.

and for all the anti-j-body guys who has been dominating nopi for the past few years? yup ecotec's. wheres the imports? try a few seconds behind. if there werent special rules for the ecotecs all other cars would get their asses handed to them. ecotecs can be built to 1500hp, probably even further, depending on aftermarket support. lets see your ****in jdm civic pull 1500hp, or even your all powerful supra even though its a 6 cylinder.

the GM backed and sponsered teams racing ecotecs has millions in advanced R&D behind it that is unlike anything most other independant shops and crews can even think about matching. i dont think you have any idea the extent of the involvement, and how many millions of dollars in resources that GM offers its pro teams.
reason why some of the pro FWD gm cars go so fast is with that GM fwd hydro automatic, thats worth a fortune and unfortunately only available to GM backed teams.
im not trying to completely knock GM for its accomplishments, which by far is still amazing what power they can extract, but when you put it into perspective, there is no reason why they shouldnt be running that fast
