Street Racing = Car Crushing
Pretty harsh, but it's not sad to see the ricers go.

that sucks. i guess it could be they watch their car get crushed. or they could get in an accident and have themselves injured too. this reminds me. me and my friend used to see this olive green bmw m3 and it had black graphics on it, all shaved, really really clean car. we used to see it speeding around town every once in a while. the other day we saw it on a flat bed trailer going to the junkyard by my house. looked like he rolled it a couple times...ouch

Coming from the CZ28 forum, it's interesting to see the polarity between that forum and this one. The same story was posted yesterday over there and most of the people who replied disagreed with the cars being crushed. I haven't seen this point brought up yet, but if you read the article, they don't just crush the cars because they were street racing them. The police have to get a court order to allow them to be crushed and they can only get that if any of the car's parts are stolen or the VIN is altered or missing.

ive seen this on several fourms and thats taking it way to far. I dont street race, i dont have enough money for a ticket/ bail. But even if they do take these peoples cars think how much the could sell them for and use the money for other things, im sure theres alot of money into those

I think it's more than just street racing. They were saying those cars had stolen parts as well such as the engines, transmissions, etc...
Plus I'm sure this isn't what they do for a first offense.

I just don't understand that if they know the parts are stolen, why aren't the parts then given back to the owners? By that logic if some guys robs my house, the police catch him, and burn down his house with all my stuff in it.
I'd rather see them selling the cars, or parts and using the money towards a charity or something. This just seems like a giant waste of potential cash and more of a publicity stunt then anything else.

They are trying to take it a step further in Ontario, stating that they don't even need to catch you street racing. Any car that is 'built with the potential to street race' can be seized and crushed. Another stupid politician opening his mouth before knowing the legalities.
