Ok, wtf... this screams BS.
I see this VW GTI last night while Im looking through the ads. 02, $2900, looks mint. Im curious why its so cheap so I email the guy about it.. brod says its probably one of those "get the package across the border, no questions asked, and the car is yours"... After this email Im beginning to think so.

Sorry for the delay,
The car is located in San Francisco, California and it is in perfect
condition, with no need for additional repairs, no scratches, dings,
special marks whatsoever. It has 53,682 miles and the VIN # is :
9BWPH61J524063274. It has a clear title ready to be signed and
notarized
on your name.
The price is $2,900 including shipping costs anywhere in the
continental US. There are no other costs regarding this transaction.
Regarding payment I am aware of the buyer's protection and we will use
WorldPay secure payments which will hold the payment until the buyer
receives the car. To complete payment the you must have cash available.
To begin the transaction I'll need your full name and shipping address,
I will forward the details of our transaction to Worldpay and then you
will receive an invoice from them. The car will be shipped insured to
your location trough DAS and you will have 5 days for inspection.

You thought about just buying a pair of snow tires?
I've got these dual/purpose tires on:
http://www.sumitomotire.com/theline/...asp?c=per&id=2
They did pretty good last winter, I've got a couple of steep hills here too (had problems but it wasn't severe).
I've got the base 3800II so its an open differential, I would actually have liked to get the posi since its always one tire loosing traction and the other sits there.

I was thinking since I wasnt going to be driving it it would make sense... but then I found out that you need full coverage on a car with a loan at all times... So I wont be able to not drive the escort next summer, so Im just getting plates for it.
I found a 97 escort, 78k, manual, black.. Im getting it this weekend. So these are my final 5 days with the maro for a while. crossing my fingers for no snow. Should be cool to finally own a manual though.

yeah, too bad I have gone so many miles already... Im close to 130k. I bought the car with 68k haha. 3 years.
But will definitly be nice to have a car to drive, not to HAVE the car back together at the end of the day or worry about it not being able to drive, that will be nice.
