get a life. if you have a prob with teens that cant afford better cars and only "sport compacts" then you need a life. but on the plus side, 20 years from now, those kids will have grown out of their teen cars and moved up to g35's, while you still have ur gn still talkin bout ur gn infront of your pride and joy trailer.

As per the first post about 20 sec cars and theyre owners.
20 sec 1/4,s in fact do have a purpose and a good one at that.
A run that slow is actually a precise bit of driving . First you launch , then you check your hair and teeth in the rear view mirror. Then you get out your cell phone and pretend to have a fuuniest thing you ever heard of call. Then you take your other hand off the steering wheel , and begin to wave too the crowd . Just like the first time you saw santa Claus up close. Which co incidently is just the moment you are passing the area where your parents are video taping the run from the stands..77.

Exactly, but the C16 route would be way better. No extra parts to screw up, no extra wiring, and you can run on the street with a stock chip, swap it out at the track, and run C16 at the track, with fewer parts. And best of all, the C16 car would be faster than the alchohol car.
By stock I meant, without the alchohol.

I cant believe I'm saying this but...I...I..I agree with stealth.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Not everyone has the money, or is in a situation to buy themselves a fast sports car. Me for example. I have a 4 door. I really wanted a nice sporty 2 door, but since I'm the only driver in the family, it was simply unpractical for me to get a 2 door. Yet, I still enjoy racing, and plan to keep on doing it.

If these other racer's bother you, I suggest you quit racing, or build your own private track. If you can't do either then learn to respect others, because life can be a bitch.

There is benefit, practice.

Start slow work your way up. If you can get killer reaction times/60 ft. times with a slower car and dead on shifts then you are well on your way. Especially if you plan on using the same car as a build up to go much quicker in the long run. Always good to be able to drive it when its slow and practice, practice, practice. I wouldn't want to see someone hop in a 11 sec capable car and run their first 1/4 mile, chances are they are hitting the wall.

Good point, an 11 sec ride does launch hard and does hit 120 mph through the traps...

We drive what we want. I drive VW's because it's what I owned as a first car, and I'm on my 8th, 9th, and 10th ones right now. Granted, if I could afford it, I'd have a GNX, or even just a Regal turbo. The GN is just a black rebadged 3.8l turbo Regal.
Also, for a lot of us, it's also an issue of how far we have to commute. If we make 35,000 a year, (just a number picked out of the air), and have to commute an hour each day, chances are, we're not going to have a ZR1, Z06, or any other "performance" car. We are going to buy a 4 cyl, then when we get tired of having 100 hp, maybe, we'll swap in a motor, turbo it, intercooler, etc, and then for those of us who know what we're doing, we'll go to the track and run 12's. There's lots of 12 sec 4 cyl cars out there. Hell, some guys are running 9's on 4 cyl Hondas.
Now before you go of saying I'm bashing GN's, or any engine bigger than 4 cyl, I grew up with parents who rallied. We owned several turbo Volvo's, none of them stock, and I had posters of GN's, and GNX's, the turbo T bird, and even on of the Firebird 3.8l turbo. I have only owned one V8 car, loved it, but glad I don't have it now, with gas being 90 cents/liter.
