that sucks, and i feel bad for her family, but the radio station shouldnt be held responsible, she signed a waiver and did the contest on her own will, if i was her before i did any kind of contest like that i would of looked into how much water is actually safe to drink, and just drank as much as i could up until that point. i guess no1 really knew the dangers of too much water.

I know what she went through, I have diabetes and I usually have to drink tons of water if I dont have my medication. Sometimes it really sucks if i drink to much b4 i take my medication I become overhydrated and have to throw everything up. Usually just all water. The only reason I probally dont get water posioning is because with diabetes you have to use the restroom all the time.
Diabetes Incipidus is what its called that I have. Though she died from this I could end up the sameway if im not carefull so yea I know what she went through from personal experience of it every day of dehydration and over hydration. I dont have sugar diabetes or the other one its a super rare case of it. I got it in 9th grade, dunno how it just happend, even the doctors are puzzled on how I got it. Most people get it from this which I do not have nor know what the *** it is Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH)

its basiclly water diabetes lol

Diabetes Insipidus

Diabetes Insipidus and Sugar Diabetes (Diabetes Mellitus) are separate disorders; however, both cause similar symptoms in patients such as, excessive thirst and urination. DI is caused by lack of the antidiuretic hormone (vasopressin) and sugar diabetes is caused by lack of the hormone insulin. Not only are DI and sugar diabetes separate disorders but the diagnostic tests and treatments are different as well.

here is a valuable lesson for the day! dont drink to much damn water lol

I agree the radio station shouldn't be held accountable for it. I mean they could have had a bear drinking contest but they went the safest way possible and chose water.

Can you imagine the stories her family is going to have to tell people whenever they ask how she died.

Its not like the people doing it knew that it could kill you.. And I think if the radio station would of said "Hey this could cause you to die, so sign up at your own risk." It would be a different story. But they didnt say any such thing and they knew what could happen.. A lady called in and told them thats not safe and they just responded with "They signed wavers" So they knew that they were riskin these peoples lives and they didnt care because they signed wavers? :banghead:

Okay, so in one breath, you say that the people doing it probably had no idea that it could kill you.

On the other hand, you say the radio station should have told everyone. Well, what says that the radio station knew it could kill a person? After all, they're just people too. They majored in communications and marketing, not biology or medicine. They had no idea, just as the contestants had no idea.

So excuse me for using my common sense, but I think your post is pretty contradictory, just in itself.

As I said in my first post.. A lady (nurse I believe) called into the show as this was going on and said that people can die from drinking too much water, and they just laughed it off and said that the people signed wavers.. When I watched the news they had voice clips of what was all being said.. So I dont know.. Maybe read it all before you comment..
