Woot!
I just got my HDTV!
I picked up a Samsung 40" LCD HDTV 1080p 10,000:1 with 3 HDMI inputs. I got it for a steal at 1100. Not bad eh?
What all am I going to need for it? I've got an Xbox Elite with the hd cables and whatnot, but I dont get to pick up the TV til Wednesday, so I need to know what cords I need and whatnot. Any help?

at best buy they are all 30% off. Also, they have some on bestbuy.com that Ive seen as low as $10. I actually just picked up American Gangster yesterday for $15. Im waiting until they drop down to 50% off, then Im getting the matrix trilogy, and planet earth, and a few others. I havent shopped around anywhere else for them, but I would imagine Ebay or circuit city might have some deals as well.
Im also pretty stoked.. Dunno if any of you bought a HD DVD player from Best Buy, but they announced a couple days ago that they will be giving anyone who bought one before Feb. 23, 2007 a $50 gift card. I think thats a pretty good idea and definitly gives back for anything people may be pissed off about. I know that $50 is going right back for cheap HD movies for me.

pick up a decent hdmi cable, the one it comes with is generic, and the picture will improve (just saw a demo by sharp and tributaries on the cables and it was noticeable to everyone there)

I watched a show the other day that compared HDMI cables, they had one from ebay for $16 a Rocketfish one, and a $200 monster one. They had the video guy at the network run various tests on them and found that they all transmitted the exact same stuff. There was absouletly no difference. I'm running $5 HDMI's from Amazom.com and they look great to me.

The only difference my friends told me between a rocketfish one, and a monster one is that the blacks will be blacker. Which I agree with. I have a rocketfish hdmi cable and the blacks arent that dark... but it looks fine to me.
