450 whp in an srt4 is more than a turbo. its a turbo, exhaust, computer, piping, all their other stupid little bullshit. its not cheap in the end. my buddy had one making over 400 to the wheels and it wasnt cheap to do. and in the end his headgaket puked on a a tune running just a hair under 11.0 afr.

also a stock turbo will not get the car into the 11's. if by some miracle it does its simply because of a very strong headwind and even then its gonna mph like a brick. those stock turbos are garbage, at 19 psi with a stage 2 and other goodies theyre making about 260 whp. and even then its not that fast considering how much abuse your putting through the motor. that turbo just doesnt flow enough to make the power you want and still be safe. col cars and all but they have their 5 years of fame and strt to break down. my buddy sold his at the right time. it still had low km on it but it was starting to get unreliable and was starting to wear out on it

Hey..I have to chuckle at how pissed you get, and that's really immature in my book. You're a great talker when all you have to do is tap away at the keyboard.

I wonder why you behave as you do. Nasty momma in your life?

And by the by, the SRT4 along with it's lowly brother, the stock 2nd generation Neon is rated as a best buy, and AllData.com finds it with no problems.

And as well, I did watch the Videos that are posted, and they're good. So at least one person did look at them, along with thousands of others.

And my guess is that when you say "crap" it's knowing personally about the SRT4 is it? Or you are the type of guy who sticks up for what he drives, and thus badmouths someone else's vehicle without knowing a single thing about the other dude'd ride? That seems about right eh?! And that's OK, because whatever you like to sit your butt in, is a personal choice, and yours just doesn't happen to be an SRT4. Oh well!

Funny thing is that the SRT4's are known to be the BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK, the 2.4 was built to handle up to 600whp. Need technical proof of that? I can provide the link.

Funny thing is that the Dub is the most expensive vehicle to operate/maintain.
The Neon's, 1st generation were crap, and belong in the dump, but the 2nd Gen, which the SRT4 is a part of, are rated a "BUY". Reliable, easy to maintain, and the SRT 4 keeps it's value in the aftermarket. Fast, yes they are. Even a non-mod SRT is quick. Economical, though 91 Octane is a must, it achieves 38MPG(Imperial) if one keeps to the speed limits plus 10k over. Push it, and it drops to 32mpg. City pushing is 21-23mpg.

And to get it an '04(stock 230) up to the 260-275whp is easy, and not expensive. Either go with MoPar Stage II, or bolt-on a few goodies, but warranty wise, go with the MoPar. Chrysler likes that better, and less hassle if you end up in their shop for some warranty work.

Jap & German vehicles are great as well, thus let everyone enjoy what they like, and stop the whinning about how bad someone else's ride is. Just have fun with
your ride is the goal, isn't it?!

How much more immature can you get? Wow you do have a problem that needs to be attended to real quick! You should Google the nearest Nut-House, but do it quick, you need help in the worst way. I do feel sorry for you, and I hope you get better, or is it that you just haven't grown up yet? Ah, maybe that's it. Look back at how you behaved in about 10 years or more, and you'll understand why I have said what I have said here today.

Good Luck in life, and I hope you live to enjoy a long life. Life is great, so cut the bad mouth attitude, as it is sick.

Stupid post!

Im bias i'll admit it, I like the SRT series but seeing a SRT-4 outrun a twin turbo supra doesn't impress me like watching this

Gary Donovan's SOHC 8valve, TII K-car - Supra guys this one may hurt!

Something else that is more impressive IMO

uhm

my car club neoncanada had Sparta for may 4th

with horrible traction the srt's were netting mid 13's.

For christ's sake my SOHC neon R/T runs 14's on the motor.

You want to make fun of something. The new Si's are 28000. Theres something to laugh @. @ least the Srt guys got a turbo out of the deal.

Oh and I worked for Honda, but now I work for Hummer Caddi. For a DD id only go honda/toyota. For a cheap drag car, dodges r awesome.

Just look @ the old 2.2 turbo, heck I watched 2 guys run 11's all day w em on the 4th. And thats an 80's engine. Take a D series and do that, you cant. Something will inevitably explode. Why
Cause the SRT/Shelby stuff was designed to be abused, the civic was designed to get you to work.

I dont see Honda selling 400+ hp turbo upgrades over the counter @ the dealer. I think its awesome what dodge is doing. More car companies should do it. What id really love is if thed do it and keep it under warranty

Chrysler built the bottom ends of the TIIs to handle alot of . Forged crank, meaty forged rods WITH full floating pistons(these should have been forged also IMO), cross-drilled blocks and heads. Even the weaker bottom ends take a hell of a beating. they can be bought cheap, modified to extremes, for example a 89 2.5L block with a 03 2.4L head(we call them hybrids). When was the last time you had traction issue's with a FWD car, sitting on radial slicks with VHT on the road?

Brent's Duster - 3.0L(Turbo/Intercooled)
T67 6g72 Plymouth Duster Sundance

For those who think Honda means, even worse makes, power you've watched the fast and the furious to much.

Theres nothing wrong with making an economy car cheap and affordable, into a fast car...like the SRT-4 Neon, but don't expect it to have quality, just performance.

they are quick, but everyone I know with an SRT-4 Neon has had problem after problem, from drivetrain issues to poor quality parts falling off and breaking.

for the most part, it's not the car itself I hate....it's the owners.
They are usually pimple-faced teenage douchewaffles that like to **** everyone else off in traffic, and you can hear em coming from a mile away with their mufflerless exhaust and retarded sounding bovs.

At the end of the day, it's still a Neon.

Yanno, I loved reading this entire post, well most of it.

What's interesting to me is the multitude of opinions that to me, seem to be bias towards the Dodge Neon, (any Gen)

Now, I personally own a Neon, (1st gen).. no it's not my favorite car, but as a daily driver and all around fun car I love it, and surprisingly enough, with just a few mods, it can eat up and spit out most cars in it's class, (now were talking daily drivers here)

Sure there are going to be the Honda guys and Toyota guys and so on, who are going to pipe up and say, NOT MY CAR YOU CAN'T!...

But lets face it, Is there ANY make, or ANY car that can out perform all the rest? NOPE!!!

You'll have good and bad apples in ALL baskets.

I'm 45 years old and have been working on, and building cars since I was old enough to hold a wrench.

I've had everything from NOS fed BB 454's right down to 1.5L little **** pots...It doesn't matter.. a Car is a Car,
What YOU do to it, is what sets it apart from the rest.

Over the years I've run into all sorts of people with big mouths and little to back it up, and I've met and become friends with many TRUE AUTO enthusiasts.
Who just LOVE cars!

I myself have a fond affection to my 87 Fiero, some may say it's a piece of crap, others won't.
I don't really care, I ENJOY IT, I also happen to enjoy my Neon.

Trashing another person over their choice of ride, seems very childish. as does trashing an entire line of cars based on perhaps 1 or 2 bad experiences.

Just my 2 cents worth.

BTW, Loved the videos.... and for every video of this car beating that car, I'm sure I can find one of the exact opposite. =)

The grass is not always greener on the other side, but at least open your eyes and take a look, rather then look away.
