351C in a Fox?
351C in a Fox?
Anybody dump a Cleveland in a fox?
How come you never hear much about this motor? Windsors are like ********, eveybody's got one....but not the Cleveland...seems like that motor has been all but forgotten.

Not as many go fast parts in the Cleveland, and nearly everything is interchangeable between the two Windsor motors. The cleveland is a good motor, but has its shortcomings. There are a lot of parts available for it, but most of the good stuff is expensive. I've never done the swap, and probably never will.

I'm kind of a retro guy....I love seeing big blocks where they don't belong, or rare/odd motors in normal every day cars.
What I'd love to see is a 429 SC/J in a fox, that'd be sweet....or a 460 in an SN95.

A friend of mines Dad has a 550hp Cleveland, that he may put in
a fox but he has no time. He is a mechanic and had it in his 67
stang and it came in his old Montego. Very high compression
set up, bare streetable.

What's wrong with a 351W? You don't hear about the Clevelands because they're simply NOT AS GOOD a swap. There's a reason people use 351W's. I wouldn't build up a Cleveland just to be "different." Seems like a waste of money.
Uhmmm, why WOULDN'T you want to do something different?
Imagine Troy Trepanier never built Sniper just because a Viper engine is more than a few thousand dollars.
*bitch slaps midnighter
*, smarten up dude.

A 351W in a fox just makes more sense because a 351W has more in common with a 302 its just plain easier and more economical. A 351C is a wider block then a 351W.
If you have the parts you just make it work.
Good call on the 502 Chris!

It always make sense to use what you already have. I mean the parts for a Windsor are interchangble with a 302 ei waterpump, oil pan etc....
I am simply trying to offer reasonable advice. Some people spend too much time trying to be different and less time doing things right.
i got a 351m/400 in my backyard..... it will likely stay there, got it for free and i never turn down something v8 that is free.
and there are still go fast pats for the 351c, if i had a hoped up 351c your damn straight i'd drop it into my 90 lx.

Or maybe a 400M
